Wow! They have an unbelievable special between 4p-6p during weekdays. For $19.99 you get a beverage, salad w/ cheese bread, a side, entree, and chef's dessert. I got the prime rib and let me tell you...so good. And the mashed potatoes were to die for! The cheesy bread and salad were excellent. I was not impressed with the chocolate cake, it was dry. For the price and quality, you just don't find this anymore at restaurants. The service was excellent. Staff were all friendly and quite attentive. Great place!

I had heard about Colby's and always wanted to try it. I finally had an extra night in which I had the opportunity to try Colby's and went there for dinner. Colby's has been around since 1987 and is a staple in Owensboro. Their menu has many comfort foods, American Classics, Bourbons, Cocktails, some craft beers and a whole lot more. On my visit, I tried 3 dishes and a 'Wheat' Bourbin from a local distillery. First up was a glass of Green River Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon which set the course for my meal. My first choice of the evening was Colby's Classic Shrimp Louisianne which was Six large shrimp sautéed in cajun butter and served sizzling hot in a skillet with a side of Cheesy Garlic Bread. The shrimp were plump, juicy and full of flavour and a great starter. Next up was Colby's take on New Orleans Gumbo made with a blend of shrimp, scallops, chicken, onions, peppers, andouille sausage and rice. The 'cup' size was almost a meal itself with big chunks of andouille sausage and a palatable spice level. For my main course, I had the 8oz center-cut aged filet mignon served medium-rare with sides of mashed potatoes, brown gravy, sauteed mushrooms and veggies. The streak was a little overcooked but tender enough to be able to enjoy. The servers and the food were really good and I see why people flock to Colby's after all these years. Another great place to try when you are in the Owensboro area.

Great ambience, excellent service, food was good. They have an early evening menu that ends at 6, we were eating by 530…so. I had the house chicken, tender grilled chicken with bbq sauce delicious ham and cheese. Opted for the coleslaw, too creamy for me but okay. My husband had the grilled salmon blackened perfectly grilled and he said delicious. We both had side salads and enclosed
Chefs dessert. That was a small 2 inch square piece of sheet cake but was tasty and a nice bit of sweet . Limited draft beer selection but nice wine list.

Enjoyed my meal of blackened salmon with grilled vegetables and house salad with hot bacon dressing. Had the best tasting unsweet tea and wonderful vanilla cake. All this was included from the early evening menu for a very fair price. Highly recommended.

Wonderful service, great price, excellent food. Went for the early dinner 4-6 pm. The prime rib was tender, the salad fresh, the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever eaten, yummy desert and attentive service.

Great food and service!! Our waitress was so fast and friendly. Do not get the shrimp and scallop linguine it was not good but the pork chop is amazing! Great bbq chicken and chicken strips. Amazing desserts. They have a early dinner special that includes dessert and a drink. Their house salad is very good too, homemade ranch.

Recommended Colby’s from the front desk receptionist at the Hampton Inn. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was extremely friendly and the food was piping hot. The owner was on-site (which is always a good sign that he cares) and prides himself on his homemade fried chicken recipe and homemade salad dressings. The steamed broccoli was steamed in butter (or so it tasted), so it was yummy as well. Not of fan of their Manhattan, but our server took over the bar and made me a yummy Cosmopolitan. My son is living in Owensboro this summer, so I will definitely visit Colby’s again.

Very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food, the service and the prices. The hand cut red onion rings were crispy and delicious. The gumbo is some of the best Ive had including what we find further south. This was a quick little lunch but we have already made plans to return.

A must visit anytime we visit Owensboro. The food and service are always great! I had the Ribeye tonight and it was cooked perfectly to order, was tender and flavorful. Love the atmosphere of the place also.

Excellent food and service. We went for lunch, they have several lunch specials which includes a beverage. We had the chicken salad, Cajun chicken Alfredo and the French Dip, all excellent. They have good desserts that are reasonably priced. Loved the ambiance, some of the walls are brick. Great dining experience.

Just left Colby's for our first visit and we were very impressed with the staff. Everyone was so quick on refills, bringing food and clearing plates. Our waitress Caley was super sweet and checked up on us often to make sure everything was good. She even followed us out the door when I forgot my to go tea. Awesome food and staff. We will be back! Thank you Caley!

We found Colby's online and took a chance which exceeded expectations. The pictures don't do it justice, the service was great and the food very good. Hubby had Shrimp & Scallops Linguini and I had Hawaiian Chicken. Hubby said his house made Gumbo was the best he'd ever had. My salad included field greens as well as bacon, egg, and tomato. All of the food was excellent and we even got cake for dessert! I would highly recommend Colby's, not just for a special occasion.

The prime rib & allegro pork chops were fabulous! Made it before 6pm for the lower prices & what a great experience! Service was outstanding! We will definitely be back to try the other menu options. Hot bacon dressing was great! White cake for dessert was the best. We got seated immediately after checking in, get reservations because it is so good, it got busy very quick closer to 6pm.

My husband and I visited Colby’s on a Friday night in February before a concert. The food was excellent!! We had a mushroom appetizer which was homemade and delicious. For my meal I ordered a prime rib sandwich with au jui and it was excellent! My husband had a burger and he was also pleased. I cannot remember our waitress’ name but she was wonderful as well. We will definitely return!

We enjoyed a nice dinner after a long day of bike riding and geocaching in the area. The service was good. I had the mesquite salmon. It was good, but I'd have preferred a little less done. The inside was spacious and we got right in. Overall a good experience.
