I've been to the actual Hoffbrauhaus in Munich in summer, winter, and once magically during the opening of Octoberfest. As one can imagine, nothing can recreate the atmosphere of the real deal - but if you can't make it to the real thing (or just hanker "real" beer and german food after a reds game) - this is good bet.... This place took me back to the time I spent in southern Germany. Some things were truly authentic, like the beer and food. Other aspects were classic American tourist trap ideas of what Germany is, like the yodelling band and the beer maid waitresses. The kids really wanted to sit outside in the beergarden, but it's the smoking area so... More
We've been to Hofbrauhaus numerous times and we're never disappointing. From the festive live atmosphere and entertainment to the delicious authentic German food and great waiters - it's always a lot of fun! Be sure to let them know if you're celebrating a special occasion. Best to go with a big group, but there is some fantastic people watching if... More
You have to like this type of dining to really enjoy this place. If you sit outside smoking is allowed which spoils it for everyone. The tables and chairs are set on large gravel rocks. The food was okay. This is not a style of dining I particularly like but the place is enjoyed by many and the place was... More
My wife's relatives have been talking this restaurant up for quite a while, but this was my first chance to join them there. Delicious! I had the pork & beef loaf with cold German potato salad. My wife had the wiener schnitzel with hot potato salad. It was a bit loud, hard to hold a conversation or even order. I... More
If you're visiting near Newport you definitely want to make this a destination. The beer is cold, tastes great and comes in a liter size if you so desire. Food is good with many traditional German dishes. We like to sit outside and enjoy the shaded tables on a sunny day. Very nice.
We went for work dinner, and the live music was great. We did move our group outside to the beer garden so we could conduct our business meeting. Food was delicious and plenty to share! So order a little of everything and find out what your favorite is!
Enjoyed stopping by Hofbrauhaus for a taste of German beer. Met our friends and their families in the large beer garden. They are located near the riverfront where there is plenty of free parking and you can walk and explore the area. They have liter beers that are good to share with your spouse or drink on your own! You... More
Great atmosphere, good beer, awesome food. The kids mac and cheeses was Kraft but that's not the first time we've encountered that. My Jagerschnitzel was delicious and my husband loved his chicken with spaetzel. The beer was perfect. And my husband loved the live music. Great experience.
