While back in Louisville lately to visit family, we returned to a restaurant that was a favorite when we lived in that city -- Michael & Siobhan Reidy's Irish Rover. With warm memories of great service and authentic Irish fare, we were not disappointed. The friendly staff handled our large party, including 4 young children, with aplomb, even suggesting a... The fish and chips are excellent! We also tried a little bourbon since we are in Kentucky and the waiter did a fabulous job of recommending a very good one at a great price. The waitstaff was knowledgeable, helpful, and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was authentic. The prices are reasonable. I would highly recommend it.

We tried Irish Rover on a friend's suggestion, and we were all impressed. That's not easy to accomplish with two picky eaters (in terms of what they will try) and one person who is a little snooty about quality and taste. I was on vacation with my husband and stepdaughter, and we took a detour off of the interstate to... More

Had the privilege of being present on their opening day, and back again several times. Consistently good food. Not all ingredients in the Irish originals are available, but it is authentic other than that. Still pull a good pint as well. Don't change a thing, it works!

Stopped by for an early dinner and tried the Scotch egg based on recommendation. Not something I would have ever chosen based on the menu description, but it was scrumptious! A hard boiled egg wrapped in sausage and then deep fried. Tasty! The salmon gratin was good and fish and chips were good too. Chips were a little on the... More

When you sit at the bar, you will feel like you are in Ireland. It's a great local pub, the owner is usually there making sure everything is right. The bartenders are friendly and the prices are surprisingly very reasonable. Last night we had the fish and chips just because we haven't in so long and it was excellent, you... More

I was visiting my sister this past weekend. She and my niece and nephew wanted to take me someplace different to eat. You know, get away from the chain restaurants. They took me to Irish Rover. The food was excellent. From the Bangers and Mash, to the Fish and Chips. We had it all. Some of the people in our... More

We always stop at an Irish pub when traveling. This is possibly the best one we have gone to. Feels authentic with Irish music & Irish decor. Greeted with a hello when we walked in. Followed other reviewers advice & has Scotch egg, fish & chips, & bread pudding. My husband & I split it all and we were full.... More

Dinner with a friend who lives in Louisville was memorable for the service, food and friendship. The menu is quite extensive and was hard to decide. The bread great had great Irish flavor as well. Excellent fun, great crowd, will return again.

This is our favorite restaurant. Week in and week out, we have to get to the Rover. The fish and chips are, quite simply, the best you will get anywhere. The salmon pate is fantastic. The scotch eggs are flawless. The soda bread tastes so good. Even more than all those wonderful things from the time you walk through the... More
