We absolutely love this restaurant. Our waiter was friendly and funny and very attentive. The food was delicious but we shared an entrée and an appetizer and it was almost $200 with just one drink each. It’s definitely upscale if you’re looking for an upscale restaurant to visit.

We are on the KETO Diet and this place surpassed our expectations. We ordered Oysters and Shrimp for an appetizer....both were fresh, chilled and awesome. Then we ordered 3 entrees....filet oscar, grilled grouper and sea bass. We had a bottle of wine and we never had to refill our own glass, our server was on it! All three were fantastic and I would highly recommend to anyone! We have eaten out all over Louisville and this is now my new favorite!

Dined here with friends, and the food was excellent. The staff were friendly, helpful, and very attentive. The restaurant was full, and conversation was a bit difficult due to the noise level of the other guests. Many guests were dressed nicely, I'm thinking people dine here for special occasions. I started with the Corn & Crab Chowder, which was excellent. Main was the Chilean Sea Bass, which was on special & it was delicious, really tasty. I would happily eat here again, you get what you pay for & this food is worth the price. Great experience in Louisville.

Food was better than average but really overpriced. Went to a similar style restaurant, ordered much more food and paid the same. Service was fine but when paying these prices you really notice the little things. Like not being offered the wine list. Or asking if they have west coast oysters and being told no bevy of COVID, knowing good and well that west coast oysters are indeed available in the market because you buy them every week for your own restaurant. Or not getting something as simple as a cocktail fork. Drink menu was not personally appealing but we did get one of their drinks and it wasn’t even finished.
$15 for an add on of 4 fried shrimp. Nothing spectacular in fact I’m pretty sure they were just a buy out
The king crab in a jar was a nice dish and the steak we bought was cooked well. But everything is still over priced compared to similar restaurants in the area. This is a hotel rest so I guess that explains that.

Over $70 for one glass of wine, entree, and one side. Asked for dairy-free (no butter) and the server looked at me like I had three heads. Waited a long time for food, and finally some sort of manager type came to the table, looked over his glasses at me at asked what was my "issue" that I had to make such a request; very condescending and inappropriate. Turns out, the server hadn't made it clear, so the kitchen had to re-do my order.

I would love to review my dinner; unfortunately, I can't. I was there with a large group from Philadelphia and this was the final dinner of our trip. Unfortunately, I never got to try a bite. My husband eats no seafood but was assured that our special group menu had steak. He was actually looking forward to it. Although he didn't like anything on the appetizer list, he would be more than happy with steak. However, he cannot tolerate a hint of pink. He ordered his steak well done only to be informed that they do not make well done steak!
Quickly, a happy celebration turned sour. He asked to speak to the manager who reinforced that the chef chose not to cook steak well done. I am not about to have my husband sit without dinner and pay for the privilege!
Om the way out, I asked to speak to the chef. He seemed bemused at the problem. Only at this point did the wait staff explain that the two steaks on our group menu were not the steaks he was willing to cook well. Had ANYONE said that, he would have gladly spent more and ordered off the menu. By this point, I could not convince him to eat there at all, ruining our celebratory and EXPENSIVE dinner.
I have really rarely witnessed such abysmally poor customer service and such pretentious policy. People like what they like. When you are in the business of serving the public, it is the public who should be made happy, not the chef.
We went to the Brazilian Steakhouse around the corner. They were so talented that they could make one side of the same piece of meat medium rare for me and well done for him. The staff there bent over backwards to make our dinner perfect. It would have been if not for the fact that all the friends were in the original restaurant and we could not be.
I would definitely never recommend Brandon's for a group (they seemed overwhelmed and plainly exhibited bizarre rigidity) or for anyone who wants to be a good guy and let everyone else enjoy seafood while asking only for a well-done steak.

We had dinner here and overall, the food was good. If you like your steak well done, they have a note on the menu that they will not prepare it that way because they think it ruins the meat. I’m glad the other high-end restaurants in the area allow guests to order their steak to their liking.
Since I couldn’t get a steak cooked to my preference, I just had a couple of appetizers for my meal. The stuffed mushrooms were tasty and the shrimp cocktail was very good. My husband had a seafood medley special and seemed to enjoy it.
We each had a drink and our bill with tip was over $180. I don’t think the value was there honestly and their snobbery about not preparing steak well done if a patron wants that left me with a negative impression.

Visiting for a conference, I walked a several block area in search of a quiet, classy place to have dinner. Found it! Great service, perfect ambience and excellent menu. I had the filet mignon paired with a crab cake. Both were superb. The filet you could eat with a spoon... so tender. The Caesar salad (seriously good smoked oyster caesar dressing) was fine, and for a cheap dessert the bourbon ice cream was tasty and not too m much after a big meal. Excellent wine selection. And, again, excellent service throughout.

What a wonderful meal and experience! The restaurant itself is incredible. The food and service match the impressiveness of the physical aspect of the facility. We first started out with two crafted cocktails. We had a table side Old Fashioned, and I had a crafted gin cocktail. We started out with a shrimp cocktail and half dozen oysters. Both were superb. We then had a half dozen grilled oysters. These are not quite the style of Drago's of NOLA chargrilled oysters, but were still quite outstanding in their own way. My daughter had the tuna and she said it was the best. I had the mixed seafood grill, and it was done to perfection. We also had a bottle of wine that was outstanding.
Overall, it was one of my best and memorable meals. Our server Enisa was also superb, and her star service helped make it one of our best meals and experiences.
It is high quality, and you do pay for quality. No regrets whatsoever when the check arrived.
Highly highly recommend!

This restaurant is in my Top 10 in the world. It was truly an outstanding experience. Not inexpensive, but well worth it if you like fine dining with impeccable service.
Given the restaurant scene in downtown Louisville - great for bourbon and BBQ, but not much else - we were surprised by this gem.
We were told their seafood is flown in fresh daily and the taste proved this to be true. And it was seasoned to perfection. The sauce was divine. The asparagus that came with my halibut was grilled just the way I like it.
Our waiter was exceptional. He appeared as if by magic whenever we needed him and never interrupted our conversation or lurked over our table as sometimes happens.
It was a delightful dining experience. If you are willing to pay more to get better quality and inspirational dishes, try Catch 23.

First off, the food was excellent. My wife had the scallops and I had the sea bass, both were superbly prepared. The scallops had just the perfect sear and were large and sweet, they were clearly Diver Scallops. This is the first time in quite awhile that I ordered sea bass, i was always disappointed, but not this time, it was absolutely perfect. Besides the food, what impressed us the most was the service. It was our anniversary and we received personalized menus, I have seen that before in any other restaurant.

Solo Dinner was average. The steak was fine, bernaise was fine but could have been better (probably from a jar/bag/packet). The French Froes were exactly like those from Wendy’s. The service was excellent. Jiri is the reason I am not mad about paying $10 for Wendy’s French fries and packaged/premade bernaise.

The food was 5 star. We weren’t very hungry so we had starters and salads. I am a huge fan of crab cakes- these were the best I have ever had. Arancini were great as were the Cesar and house salads. We sat at the bar as the restaurant was busy. No problem, we actually prefer that. The reason for my 4 star was the bartender. A young woman with her hair in a top knot. When she spoke to us she was very nice but we had to flag her down to order our drinks, again to order our food and yet again for our bill. After giving us our bill you would think she would come back to collect it but no she seemed more interested in doing her evening work of shutting down the bar, with her back to us. We finally flagged down a young man who had stopped by many times during our meal to fill water and ask how we were doing. We asked him to please cash us out as our server was had not come back to do it. He was very apologetic. He said nothing negative but I felt he had had to apologize for her before. As an aside we observed all the other bartenders/ servers being very attentive and timely in serving their guests. Sadly not her, she really needs to step up her game.

We had a contract with this restaurant for dinner for 24 peoples after The Oaks. A month before, I was emailed that they were not going to honor the contract. I was able to secure a reservation for 24 elsewhere but it was nowhere near downtown so I had to book transportation for $1632. Brendon’s Catch ignored emails requesting reimbursement, nor would they book a table for 8 of us for Thursday evening.

My boyfriend and I eat regularly at about 12 restaurants in Louisville. Brendon's was on the list until our last dinner there. I sat facing the open kitchen and watched two men in suit coats standing in front of the kitchen. I assumed they were managers. One man was doing something on a computer. The other paced up and down the aisle in front of the kitchen watching the chefs. I thought there was some micromanaging going on and that it must be an unpleasant and stressful atmosphere to work in. Suddenly, the "pacer" was at one end of the kitchen area reading the riot act to a female server. She was facing me, and I saw a bewildered look on her face. He was gesturing wildly with his left hand while his right hand was on his hip. He was yelling at her. This went on for about 10 minutes. Several other tables noticed his behavior. I wish I had gone up to him and told him how out of place his behavior was. She did not deserve to be yelled at in front of the whole restaurant, whatever her transgression was. The server walked past me almost in tears. She then walked past me in the other direction with her purse and left through another part of the kitchen. Next, a pompous young bearded man walked up to the man who had been yelling and shook his hand and slapped him on the shoulder. They had a conversation, after which the pompous customer walked back to where he came from gloating with satisfaction. When our server came to the table, I told him that the woman server did not deserve her treatment whatever she'd done. He told me she hadn't done anything but her job, AND that the offending yeller was the owner of Brendon's, Eric Bachelor. Really??? The owner behaves like that to his employees in front of all his customers! That's it for us and Brendon's. The food is very good, and the atmosphere is pleasant, but I won't frequent a place where the employees are treated without respect. I wish they'd all walked out after he finished his tirade.
