On our recent visit to Louisville, we were visiting a distillery down the street and asked for a local recommendation for lunch. The tour guide recommended Taco Luchador, a quick walk up the road.
I love a good taco, and Taco Luchador did not disappoint. The atmosphere is casual and fun, and you order right as you walk in. We opted to sit at the bar, where I had a Sangria-Margarita mixture that was very good. Loved the combination of flavors. My wife had a good Margarita.
We ordered chips and queso, which was a very good appetizer and pre-cursor to the tacos. I got three tacos, the Al Pastor, Carnitas, and the Asada. All three were delicious, and I liked the Al Pastor most of all. The tacos are good-sized, not too big or small, and three was ideal for me. My wife got two, and that was more than enough for her appetite.
I'd say that these tacos lean more traditional Mexican, rather than the Americanized "Tex Mex" versions that many places make, and I really enjoyed the fresh ingredients, savory depth, and bright flavors that worked so well together.
We had some nice conversation with the staff while we sat at the bar and enjoyed our meal. Nice people.
Overall, I really enjoyed our meal here and would love to visit again next time I'm in Louisville. Thanks, Taco Luchador!

My party of four ate here recently and absolutely loved it! Between us, we ordered about 10 tacos, a sandwich, and nachos, and everything we had was terrific. The guacamole is fresh and tasty, all of the tacos were at least good - the fried whitefish and the carne asada were the best! - and the carne asada sandwich was terrific.
And the sangria margaritas were excellent!

This is my partners absolute favorite place, and it is continuing to grow on me. I recently went vegetarian, so I was worried about what tacos and margaritas would look like there. Anyway, their veggie taco is the most amazing and decadent thing I have tasted since going vegetarian. Also, they let me try the watermelon spicy margarita before I purchased it, and I beyond appreciated that! I like spicy, but not too spicy- so they helped me with my choice. It was amazing btw! Highly recommend! Their outdoor seating was wonderful, too! Loved the whole ambiance and food and drinks!

Pricey for what it is.
I'm spoiled by a lot of good taquerias where I'm from, but Taco Luchador's menu sounded tasty and the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. While I generally prefer traditional tacos, but do like a good fancy taco.
The cashier implied these were small fancy tacos, so we ordered a bit more than we wanted for lunch. They aren't small, they're average size tacos, but I do think they're on the spendy side. 5 tacos, sweet potato fries, and a Jarrito ran us over $30. My husband ordered the suadero, barbacoa and tinga taco; I ordered the fish, veggie and the fries. I can't speak for his tacos, but I found the fish pretty good. Plenty of filling, to the point of being a little messy, and decent flavors. The veggie, in my opinion, is a pass. I didn't think the flavors meshed well together, I tasted maduro more than anything.
The space is cool, vibrant and welcoming. We sat on the small, but cute patio shielded a bit from the street by plants. Staff was friendly too, but this wasn't really my jam.

I thought 4.75$ was a lot for a taco, but it was well worth it. Delicious! Nicely decorated. Great ambiance. The person taking orders at the cash register seemed a little distracted.

We were in town for a bridal partial from Atlanta and this place came highly recommended. The most delicious Asada, Carnitas and Fish tacos I’ve had in a long time. Also loved the chips with cheese and guacamole dip. Must try the sangria and margarita swirl. We will definitely be back!

The tacos and elote were delicious, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the kitchen had a busy day and ran out of a few items. Would love to try a torta or the mole fries in the future. I recommend going for an earlier meal if you do so.

I don't know why this place has fallen so much in relation to its cuisine, today it is not even half of what it was not long ago, my last experience that I remember of the cuisine of this place was very good, the opposite of this time, it is so difficult to maintain a culinary tradition that this place has earned over the years,???

Visited both the Taylorsville Road and New Cut Road locations at least twice during this visit to Louisville and the food was consistently delicious no matter the location. On a previous visit to Louisville I visited the St. Matthews location and it was the same experience - excellent! Some of my favorite items - Elote Callejero, Baja Fish Taco, Veggie Taco, Veggie Luchador Nachos, and Desayuno Torta!
Keep up the consistency and quality of your food and a life-long customer!

Great tacos! My eyes were bigger than my stomach. Ordering the chips & queso probably didn’t help, but were good! I had the Baja Fish, Vegetarian, and the Suadero tacos. All three were excellent!

ELOTE CALLEJERO.. Can't recommend this enough! Fantastic!
Loved the open air seating at the bar. This place had a great vibe. We had the AL PASTOR, ASADA, SUADERO, and a few others. There was a special $6 for 3 but you had to get the SAUDERO. Totally worth it. Service was fantastic! Will be back when in the Louisville area.

I absolutely agree with other reviewers - best tacos I’ve ever had! Tacos in general are my favorite and this place just set the bar. Was on a road trip from Kentucky to Illinois - while in the car texting a friend from California and she referred us to this place while passing through Louisville - so glad she did - everyone loved. Just wish we had one in Illinois!!!!

The tacos are fantastic.......superb tastes (I tried 4 different ones) and wonderful plating as well. The best flavors melded together I have ever had in a taco.
