My wife and I are suckers for Mexican restaurants. Having recently moved to Louisville, we’re excited to check out all the local Mexican eateries. We’ve tried a few others, and this El Nopal location is relative close to where we live, so we thought we’d give it a chance. El Nopal seems to be a rather large regional Mexican restaurant... More

We had dinner at El Nopal. The food was good, but lacked the spiciness I expected. (We eat alot of home-made Mexican). The Margarita was good. The atmosphere was nice and the service was great.

They need a chef who knows how to make food LOOK appetizing!! Also, the quality of the meat needs to improve. Even in the pics on the website the food does not look good. Bump up the presentation and also the quality and you will have a great place to eat.

I really like Mexican food and I have a set standard on what I think Mexican food should test like. Every time I go here I experience wonderful service as well as consistent authentic Mexican food. The best Mexican around!

El Nopal never seems to fail, no matter which location you go to. This location just off Goosecreek is my favorite. It's convenient to our church (Springdale Presbyterian Church) and the staff is accommodating, attentive and friendly. The food is always good and the beer is always cold. Can't wait to try their outdoor patio this spring & summer!

We had lunch there today. The food was excellent. It has improved a lot. The service also was much better than last time. We left a nice tip for the server. We will return in the next few weeks again.

Came upon this restaurant by chance while following our GPS to another, but non-existent, Mexican restaurant. Doesn't look like much from the outside but interior is 'authentic' and lively. Very colourful. Clean. Family friendly. Food was mucho excellente! Authentic. Generous portions, reasonable prices. Excellent service. Highly recommended!
