One of my favorite spots when I am in Louisville at lunch time. Really good, fresh, homemade meals that always include a vegetarian option (for those so inclined). Menu changes daily so it's always an adventure to see what they have. Order at the counter...and have a seat. Service is fast and very friendly. Prices are very reasonable and the sweet tea is just right. Highly recommended.More

Food today as always was excellent. They were open even though the city was on holidays break. Sandwiches are very fresh and the service is prompt. They include a beverage with meal. However I prefer to have no beverage and get a lower price for...the meal.More

Bernie has the most unique specials I have ever seen. There is always the standard special chicken enchilada casserole. Last week I had a bean taco. It is for the vegetarians. They come with a soup. Last week it was tomato based. It was super....I have been going to the city Café for approximately nine years. I went with my lunch buddy and I ate at the city Café two or three times a week every week when we were in town. I have been retired for six years. When I have business in downtown always go to the city Café.More

I had lunch here yesterday and ordered the half brisket sandwich and salad. The brisket was the worst I've ever eaten. I thought it would have been sliced, but was pulled like pork. It was also coated in BBQ sauce with onions mixed in. The...description does say carmelized onions, but I figured they would be laid on top. Either way, they weren't carmelized. Not sure why they mix it with BBQ?? Needless to say all I ate was the salad. One positive was the employees were very nice.More

Daily fresh food at a good price, friendly staff. Everything is made from scratch. Loved the beef burrito and their pulled pork is very good.

Visited for lunch and greatly enjoyed the wonderful fresh local food in a slightly funky setting. All food prepared fresh. Great flavor and good price. I had the vegetarian quasdilla and they did not disappoint. Will certainly come back next time I'm in town.

Stopped by when in the area. We both had the daily special which was white chili with chicken, cornbread. We both agreed it was the best white chili we'd ever had! The young man at the counter was very friendly and helpful. We'll be back...again next time we're in the area.More

I had the club sandwich with the mustard/mayo on the side. I asked for it toasted and they did a fine job. Great sandwich with quality ingredients. My wife had the combo cesar salad and daily pasta. The salad was wonderful, but the sauce on...the pasta..a cold pasta with BBQ sauce was sweet and really not that good.More

We had some people in from out of town and needed to grab a quick lunch. this fit the bill perfectly. Not a lot of places to park but that part of Broadway is usually not busy around 11:30 and you can grab a parking...spot on the street. Soup, salads and sandwiches -There were so many options on the menu and everyone got something different and each of us enjoyed it. I will be going back to check out the salads and more sandwiches. This is a restaurant that you would not feel uncomfortable sitting at a table and eating alone. More quick in and quick out than sit and leisurely enjoy.More
