First trip to the Mayan and it didn't disappoint. I tried cactus for the first time. It's an unusual taste, but overall was good. Had the rabbit and it was delicious!!!! Also had a side of plantains, but gave them to my boyfriend (I am allergic to bananas and wasn't for sure how they would affect me). He said they... More

Hi Mindy, Thanks so much for dining with us recently! We really appreciate your support. Cactus is really healthy in addition to a fun thing to eat, so I'm glad you enjoyed it! We recently started using an online reservation system, so feel free to use that next time you're thinking to come in. Thanks again! More

I love this place. The food is really great and the service was timely and casual. My partner is not a fan of this restaurant so I went with my best friend when he was out of town. The ceviche was too die for!!!!!! This is really good and if you are in town and staying downtown this is very... More

Thanks very much for your recent visit! I'm glad you enjoyed your meal, especially the ceviche. The bay scallops we use in that dish are just the best, aren't they?! We hope to see you again soon. More

I'm having a hard time titling this review. It was good...good enough to warrant a second visit sometime...but not great. The atmosphere is attractive and cozy. The service was friendly and welcoming. The appetizer was delicious - a daily special variation on their regular menu offering of salbutes - spicy without being too hot, very flavorful. But dinner was...meh. I... More

Thanks for your review. I'm glad you enjoy the salbutes the other night, but I do apologize that your entrees weren't as you hoped they would be. We work with local farmers to source many of our vegetables as well as the rabbit, so we can ensure the freshest ingredients. I do hope you'll try us again, and I'm sure... More

This small but cozy restaurant is very warm and inviting. The food is excellent and well prepared and service is great as well. We didn't have a reservation and went across the street to a coffee shop to wait, within 10 minutes we were called back and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We had the Oven Roasted Rabbit and... More

We ate here on New Year's Eve. The scallop ceviche was excellent and the serving was generous. I also had the salmon served with Cuitlacoche sauce (corn smut) | tok-sel lima beans | potato & corn cake. It was a perfect combination of flavors for me. I read about the sauce (corn smut) later which made the meal even more... More

I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to write such kind words about our restaurant. I'm so glad you enjoyed your meal on New Year's Eve.. That salmon entree has been one of our most popular dishes for years. The cuitlacoche in the sauce adds a really unique note to the palate. Thanks again! More

Dined here last Saturday night and the food was excellent and our waitress was very pleasant. The only issue was the table we were given...it was at the back of the restaurant even though we had a reservation...it was crowded and I realize they were trying to get us seated...I would definitely dine here again but next time I will... Thanks for dining with us last week! I'm glad you enjoyed the food & service. I apologize that you didn't enjoy the table where you sat. As we are small and only have 14 tables, we try and maximize our seating as much as possible. When you make a reservation in the future, you can definitely request a table by... More

The first time I tried to eat here, I didn't have a reservation which I didn't think would be a problem, especially since half the restaurant was empty. After speaking with the hostess, I was informed that though more the half the tables had not one seated at them, it would be a minimum of a two hour wait. So... More

Helen, thanks for taking the time to review us. We appreciate you coming back after there was a long wait the first time you came in. As we work primarily off of reservations, especially on the weekends, we often have long waits. We just began accepting online reservations, if that's helpful the next time you're thinking to come in. I'm... More
