My 3 usual dining companions and I descended on the Oakroom a few weeks ago and were treated to an epic dinner of Miltonian proportions. Ornate in the extreme, yet somehow intimately familiar. I usually only post a review when the food is so outstanding that I find myself talking about it days later-- to strangers. Check. I don't write... More

The Oakroom has the most extensive brunch in an elegant atmosphere with terrific service. The food is delicious with so many items to choose from. One glass of champagne is complementary and a full bar and wine list is available. It's a fine dining brunch to be sure, and reservations are recommended. Mother's day is a very special brunch and... The Sunday Brunch at the OakRoom has always been something we look forward to. We didn't eat there every Sunday, but about 8 to 12 times a year and it was worth the money. Since the remodel of the Oakroom, they have abandoned their Sunday Brunch :-( I was told that Gatsby's has "elevated their brunch and it is similar",... More

The restaurant is perfect! We love all the history the restaurant has to offer! We were allowed to take pictures in the Al Capone room with we thought was awesome! All of the staff including the manager greeted us and were very friendly and personal. The food was amazing! We had a great Anniversary dinner. Thank you so much! They... More

THE place to have Mothers Day brunch after Derby weekend. I've not been any other time. Make a reservation. $70/pp minimum and worth it. Don't go if you don't want to spend $$$. You'll just be pissed and leave negative reviews. I'm trying to upload pics but there are 5k on my phone and the ones I need will not... More

Tonight we had the most amazing meal! From the appetizers to the finale, everything was expertly prepared. The wasabi sorbet was unexpected and was delicious. The service was attentive and professional.

My wife and I were in town for a Smashing Pumpkins Concert at the Palace. We decided to tryout Kentucky's only AAA 5 diamond restaurant before the show at the hotel we were staying at. The service was good and the waiter was very knowledgeable. The food was fantastic especially the spaghetti squash. Before tip the price for both of... More

We had a 7:15 reservation on a Saturday night. Show up and were told by a not very smooth hostess that we would have to wait for 10 minutes because their kitchen was backed up. When we were finally shown to our table about 15 minutes later, less than half the restaurant was even being used! Our table and one... More

While visiting Louisville, my husband and I were invited to join a group going to The Oakroom, supposedly the only 5 diamond restaurant in town. The decor and ambiance were quite elegant, and we expected a wonderful evening. Sadly, the menus arrived and my hopes were dashed! I expected to pay a little more for such a gourmet experience, but... More

OMG! You have to sign a contract to eat there Friday night! $226 per person and you won't get good service at all. Napkin in lap at 15 minutes. Tea at 30 minutes with no ice and no sugar. Obscure menu.
