Learned just recently that this downtown landmark has closed for good. The last time our group ate there the menu had changed once again ... the third time in as many months. Management and outlandish prices killed this place!
My husband and I had breakfast here on a weekday morning. Our server was nice and friendly. She kept our coffee cups full and made sure we had what we needed. My husband had the hot brown benedict, which he said was good. I had...the bacon avocado omelette which was average at best. The star of the fish was the mango chutney. This place wasn’t bad but average and I’m not sure I would go out of my way to eat here. There are many other restaurants in the city that are spectacular.More
My wife and I had walked from the Hyatt to Dish on Main for breakfast. Got there about 8:15 and the door was locked. While we were deciding on plan B, they opened!! We were seated immediately and Jay took care of us. I had...the Chicken n Biscuit with a side of scrambled eggs and my wife had the Skillet Baked Eggs Hot Brown. These were both GREAT choices. Everything was cooked just right and I highly recommend this place for breakfast.More
Nice chilled vibe, nice food (not too expensive)
We got complimentary fried pickles for booking a table in advance.
Very friendly service.
lots of classic dishes on the menu and an excellent old fashioned cocktail
We went early on Saturday morning and opted to order off the menu versus the buffet. Service was excellent, but the food was lacking greatly. We both had Avocado Toast, which came with an avocado paste versus slices or hunks, wilted lettuce, and a very...commercial, grocery store thin tomato slice. The sourdough toast was overdone and the hollandaise sauce non-descriptive. Louisville has too many great restaurants for Dish to allow a slip like this. SO disappointing, as this had really been a hidden gem in the past.More
I made a group reservation for a Friday night but we would’ve gotten away without one because the restaurant was mostly empty. The menu is ample and the food had taste but it ultimately left something to be desired. I had a bowl of the...Creole Voodoo, which definitely had a spicy kick.More
I had lunch at Dish on Market with a group at a convention. The service was very good, my salad was great (Caesar with Salmon), and the entire experience was enjoyable. One of our party has some tricky dietary restrictions, but the chef was great...about creating something for her.More
We went in on a Wednesday evening and sat at a booth by the bar, served by the bartender. She asked our names and continued calling us by name the entire time. She did that for everyone else in the room as well. Impressive.
We...both ordered the 3-piece fried chicken and it is among the best I've ever had. Definitely worth the 20 minute wait. I'm sure the other dishes they offer are just as good but you cannot go wrong with the chicken.More
My wife and I were downtown and we decided to have lunch. We asked a doorman and he recommended Dish on Market. We gave it a try and were blown away. We sat at the bar and he made us old fashions that was amazing,...my wife had two. I had a hot brown for lunch, it was the best I’ve had that wasn’t made at The Brown. The wife had the club sandwich and loved it. We watched him make Bloody Marys that looked delicious too. I highly recommend Dish on Market.More
