Outdoor dining on a rooftop. Fresh-tasting food, great service. As you'd expect for Louisville, fantastic bourbon selection. The deconstructed tuna poke was tasty but really more of a salad. Queso was really delicious and there was plenty for sharing. Fried chicken sandwich was crispy and...flavorful. Fries were just ok. Bartender was very helpful in picking from amongst the long list of bourbons. Waitress was cheerful and attentive without hovering. Delightful evening and felt COVID-safe being outside.More

My husband and I had the best time ringing in the new year at 8 Up! The food was delicious! They also have an unique selection of creative cocktails. My favorite was Float Like a Butterfly. Service was attentive and friendly. If you are looking...for a special place to celebrate or just a night out, don’t hesitate, book your reservations at 8 Up.More

Made a 5:00 pm reservation, outdoor seating, party of four. Planned for 90 minutes of drinks and appetizers before having dinner at The Brown Hotel. I called after making the reservation and inquired about being seated by a heater. I was told to request this...upon arrival, that it shouldn't be a problem given our early reservation (they open at 5:00 pm). Arrived at 5:06 pm, hostess was on the phone. We stood there for 10+ minutes along with another man waiting to be served, while multiple staff and management stood around with no one acknowledging our existence. It wasn't that they were busy, there were only two other customers in the entire place, already seated at the outside bar. When the Hostess got off the phone, she gave no acknowledgement of our waiting. I provided my name and asked for seats by the heaters. The outside deck has two large fire pits, which each seat 14 people and I believe another smaller seating area near a fire pit. They were all empty. The Hostess then walked us out and attempted to seat us at a table nowhere near a fire pit AND in chairs that each had a pool of water in them from rain the previous day. We pointed out the water in the chairs and I again requested to be seated by the fire pits, clarifying that we have my 85 year-old mother-in-law with us. The Hostess indicated she would have to check with the Manager. Again, the entire place was almost completely empty! The Hostess went back inside and as she was talking to a Manager, I walked up and again asked to be seated by the heaters. I again explained that I had an elderly woman with us, and that we now were only going to be there for drinks and appetizers, that the space would be freed up in less than an hour. The Manager said it would be no problem. The Hostess walked us back outside and took us to the far fire pit, only for us to find that again, the chairs mostly had pools of water in them. She literally just stood there watching as my son went around the table, trying to cobble together four dry chairs (he found one) for us to sit in. Then the music came on and it was apparent she was trying to seat us immediately adjacent to the speakers, which were very loud, especially given the fact that there were only three customers in the entire place. We would not have been able to hear each other. The Hostess was clueless during this entire time, she made no attempt to dump the the standing water out of the chairs or to take any steps dry them after we dumped them. Literally every other seating option available to her would have been more appropriate than what she offered us and she just stood there, mouth agape, when she encountered problems. And what kind of restaurant opens without doing a basic walk-around to ensure the premises are ready for customers. It had rained the day before but the day of our reservation was sunny and dry, albeit cool, all day. There is no excuse for trying to seat customers in an inch of standing water, not once, but twice. And never an apology, any decent staff would have been horrified. We left. After patronizing 8-Up many times in the past, we will not be returning.More

Excellent food! And the atmosphere at the only rooftop restaurant and bar in Louisville on the top floor of the Hilton Garden Inn was wonderful. Service was also top notch. We will definitely be going back.

I was trying to reserve an iglou for Mid-January. I filled out the online request for a a reservation in mid-December. No one called me back. Beginning the week prior to the reseRvation date, I left several messages and spoke to someone who was unable...to help me. The person I talked to said the online form is only a request. She said she would leave a message for the correct person. On The Thursday prior to the date I requested, McKenna called me and said there was no availability until February on a Sunday afternoon. I booked for February 9th. Today, McKenna called and said that due to having two reservation systems they had overbooked the time slot and asked me to change my reservation time. Initially I said no. However, after discussing with the group, we decided to cancel altogether. Honestly, the customer service level leaves a lot to be desired. I love the concept but don’t feel confident that space will actually be available or that service or food will be up to par. This restaurant needs to really work on putting a better face out to the public.More

Absolutely worth going to when in Louisville. You get great views of the city in a 360 degree setting. Service from the outside bar area was a little slow on a busy evening, but overall pretty cool... and I am glad we experienced it.

We stay at the Hilton garden Inn every time we come to Louisville, Ky but we had never eaten at this restaurant. So we decided to try it after seeing all the traffic going up there for 2 nights in a row. They have indoor...and outdoor seating. Although it was November and cold, the outdoor seating is covered with heating inside each sitting area. It's very nice! For the appetizer, we had the pizza and it was good and hot & fresh. I order the 16 oz rib eye with potatoes and broccoli. I get my steaks medium well and they not disappoint on this steak. My knife sliced through it like butter and the broccoli was well-seasoned and flavorful. The service was good as well. The atmosphere was very relaxing and intimate. Loved it!More

I attended an event put on by one of our vendors and this was the venue. We were in a private room off the main bar area. There where snacks on the table along the wall and beverages were provided. Speaking of drinks, they have...an extensive selection of bourbons, whiskeys and other liquors as well as beers and wines. The view is pretty nice though it was a bit cool to venture out onto the outside area. They do have some igloos that are heated and looked inviting. As part of our event, a bourbon tasting was had. It was a great place, great views and great service. Getting there is easy, just take the elevator to the eighth floor. You can't miss it.More

We came here to start off a bachelorette party and get our pictures above the city before we got trashed. They have a beautiful rooftop outdoor area with bar. In the fall and winter they have fires going on the ceiling to keep you warm....Our bartender was very nice, his name was Nick. I highly recommend the lux lemonade. OMG is it delicious! Probably my all-time favorite drink ever.More
