Food was delicious. The man that took our order walked us through the menu, as we weren't sure what to order. You get a lot of food for the money.

Looking for some good o'l creole Gumbo and Jumbalaya - well look no further. This is a simple old school creole cooking at its best in Kentucky! Big portions, great price and excellent eats! We will be back, that's for sure!

Way too much bay leaves are used in the food but it is ok for a quick meal. Not like the real New Orleans favs I grew up on.

If you're looking for a quick, tasty meal that give you value for money, you can't do better than this. The full sized portions are enormous, but you can get half-sized portions or do a split plate, and they are just as generous with their ingredients as they are with their serving sizes. The jambalaya had great big hunks of... More

I have gone many times, they have a small menu but the selection is good. If you want to try something, just ask (free samples, cough cough). The portions are BIG and come with bread. Service is friendly and they will help you choose if you don't know where to start. The food comes really fast and is great when... More

Fantastic cajun food! The service was polite and helpful, and the menu had a range of options that made my Louisiana-based family quite happy.

Everything on the menu is great. All items made fresh daily and you can get a combo platter consisting of two different items. Try the jambalaya and save room for the best bread pudding you can find!

We didn't know what gumbo was so we got a shot of every single one they had made. The owners were really kind. The portion was huge and quite heavy but absolutely worth to try. Very reasonably priced as well.

Description
Gumbo Ya Ya Fast Casual Cajun Creole is locally owned & operated by Greg and Tressa Todd. Greg started his career in the Cajun restaurant business in 1989 as an assistant manager for New Orleans native Joe Vuskovich (Original founder of Jozo's Bayou Gumbo). Greg worked under Joe V's wing for many years as a prep cook, store manager & co-partner of the original Yats Cajun Creole. After several years in the business, Greg decided to open his own Cajun joint with a “keep it simple” motto & no frills. Thus the chalkboard menu and tax included pricing. The S. Broadway location opened it's doors in January of 2004 and continues to serve up Lexington's finest Cajun cuisine around. Greg takes great pride in knowing every plate of food served in his store is prepared by him using fresh local produce (no preservatives) & that he is dishing up damn good Cajun Creole for a can’t beat it price! So, whether your in the mood for the famous Yatwich, or you need to satisfy your irrepressible urge for Maque Choux, or you just want ya some Red Beans & Rice on Wash day, Ya Ya's has got you covered!
