NO being home, this was pretty close to Mother's. The atmosphere was a little off being in a strip mall; but the food did not disappoint! Great Gumbo, Ettouffee, and Jambalaya. Nothing was short of exccellent

Was disappointed in this restaurant. Thought we were going to have a nice sit down New Orleans style food. Tasted Ike soggy fast food with little atmosphere in restaurant. Would not go there again. My sister and I were shocked as the food tasted like it had come out of a box and was fixed in mass quantities and then... More

We have eaten here 3 times over the lats year that our son has been going to UK. It is nice that the service is fast. We have enjoyed all the dishes we have eaten and have no issues with the staff, they have always been friendly and helpful. Our younger sons love the giant chocolate chip cookies!

I should start by saying that I have only been to one location, near campus. I have eaten at this location three times and have had a different experience every time. The first time the food was decent but nothing incredible and the employees were somewhat rude. The second time, the food was better but the meal was ruined when... More

Great to eat there with a New Orleans atmosphere. Clean and very quick and friendly. They change the dishes daily which they have a variety of. Fast food that doesn't taste like fast food. Great portions and value for the money.

This is a little hole I the wall restaurant close to campus on south broadway. Any time we want something different or are craving Cajun cooking, this is our go to. A variety of mouth-watering dishes including jambalaya, etoufee, gumbo and wonderful maque choux. Great garlic bread served with every meal.

Everything here is great. If you're looking for a true cajun flavor, stop in here. From mild to spicy they have it all!!! My favorite is the maque choux over rice. And the peanut butter pie is the best!!!

I have never had food quite like this and I really enjoyed it, as did the ten people in my group. The restaurant makes a few slow-cooked meals every day, and offer samples to help people make selections. I really appreciated the fact that the staff members are very knowledgable about the food, what's in each dish, and how to... More

Oh my goodness what portions! The food was excellent. Between my husband and I, we had jambalaya, gumbo and chicken creole. Leftovers will be enjoyed at lunch tomorrow. We will return for sure!

Description
Gumbo Ya Ya Fast Casual Cajun Creole is locally owned & operated by Greg and Tressa Todd. Greg started his career in the Cajun restaurant business in 1989 as an assistant manager for New Orleans native Joe Vuskovich (Original founder of Jozo's Bayou Gumbo). Greg worked under Joe V's wing for many years as a prep cook, store manager & co-partner of the original Yats Cajun Creole. After several years in the business, Greg decided to open his own Cajun joint with a “keep it simple” motto & no frills. Thus the chalkboard menu and tax included pricing. The S. Broadway location opened it's doors in January of 2004 and continues to serve up Lexington's finest Cajun cuisine around. Greg takes great pride in knowing every plate of food served in his store is prepared by him using fresh local produce (no preservatives) & that he is dishing up damn good Cajun Creole for a can’t beat it price! So, whether your in the mood for the famous Yatwich, or you need to satisfy your irrepressible urge for Maque Choux, or you just want ya some Red Beans & Rice on Wash day, Ya Ya's has got you covered!
