We had dinner at Tony’s Steak House in Lexington
on Friday night before a UK game on Saturday afternoon,
We had made reservations through Open Table. When we arrived for our reserved time, the restaurant did not have a reservation scheduled for our party. The manager was great and seated us 15 minutes after the reserved time. The food was wonderful, great service and atmosphere.
We highly recommend this restaurant for your next visit to Lexington.

We loved the atmosphere and look of the restaurant. Very busy and noisy, which I like! Bartender made us great drinks. Once seated, the restaurant lost it's momentum. Our waitress was very unsure of answering questions about the menu. The service was slow and the food was good but a bit overpriced for the service that was rendered. Steaks were underwhelming. Oysters were good. Our sides were good but the bourbon sweet potatoes were almost pureed. Kinda weird. Overall nice experience, service just could be better.

While in Lexington for a long weekend of Bourbon tasting, we wanted to visit one of the better steakhouses and Tony's came highly recommended. We were very happy! Service was very attentive and enthusiastic from the moment we entered to checking how our experience was as we left. The food was excellent - perfectly cooked and high quality prime rib and great pasta - and the wine list has loads of interesting stuff at good prices.

Being new to the menu it took us a few minutes to decide on what to order. We each ordered an appetizer and entree. I ordered a half dozen fresh oysters and my spouse ordered the Steak Tartare. Our entrees consisted of the sea bass and a Tomahawk pork chop. we both ordered half bottles of wine. I am on a low sodium diet and asked that the kitchen not salt any of my food.
My fresh oysters arrived without the steak tartare. When we finally got the waiter's attention and asked him where the other appetizer was - he responded by saying “I thought you were sharing the oysters.” At no time did we suggest or state that we were sharing anything. At this point, we were still waiting for our wine. And when the tartare finally arrived so did the wine. The entrees came out and my sea bass was so salty I could not eat it. I cut away the outside meat so I could at least enjoy some of the fish.
IMO Tony’s needs to lose the tag fine luxury, and stick to being the most expensive sports bar in Lexington. I don't mind spending $230 plus on a meal but if I've got to raise my voice in order for my partner to hear me or strain to hear the staff there is a problem. The food was mediocre and was not worth the money spent. The atmosphere was horrible and service meh. If you are looking for luxury dining in Lexington look further down the road.

Dear Keith, we certainly appreciate the time you took to write your review. It's people like yourself that make us aware of our shortcomings that constantly propel us to strive for perfection. Unfortunately, in your situation, we did not meet our standards. We noticed that you made your reservation one hour before your reservation time and regrettably all 'quieter' tables were already seated on such a busy evening. We take pride in our food and service and have done so successfully for ten years. We regret that on that particular evening, we failed to show you our true colors. Our General Manager, David Johnson, has attempted to call you twice prior to your review and left contact information. If you would like to discuss this further please give him a call back.

Our evening did not start out so well. We tried several different restaurants (on a weeknight) and they all had an hour wait for a party of 5. Frustrated and now very hungry, we checked with Tony's and they told us the same thing at first. We walked out and not 2 minutes later the manager followed us out to tell us that he was going to try to figure out a way for us to dine with them. We had a table within a few minutes.
The excellent service continued throughout our meal as well. Our dishes were all equally incredible. I personally had the bone-in pork chop (wow, a huge portion of meat!), bourbon sweet potato puree, and mac and cheese. I'd recommend them all!

Greeted outside by staff who opened the door. Hostess responsive to sitting at a table out of the way of traffic. Wait staff attentive but not over-bearing or “in your face”, made great recommendations and offered suggestions about wine pairings. Comfortable environment. We had oysters on the half shell and the fried calamari as appetizers. Both were superb. My husband had the lamb and said it was the most tender lamb he had ever had . The wait staff recommended medium rare for my tuna; this came out perfectly done. The Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly—slightly firm but obviously cooked. We shared cheesecake for dessert. The cappuccino was made with a quality coffee. The manager was visible out in the restaurant and asked us how we enjoyed our meal. Overall, a great experience. Highly recommend.

This “special occasion” place delivers in every respect. It greets customers with a sleek but open decor. The service and food were top notch. Our waiter Johnny was professional and friendly; he was more than willing to make sure that we had anything that we wanted (including a table visit from Tony himself). Our filets were wonderfully prepared with delicious sides and wine. A not to be missed place for any visitor to Lexington.

What a fantastic place! The ambiance, decor, music, food and service were superb. This is one of those restaurants that you want to keep coming back. We went with a group of friends and I can truly say we had a wonderful experience.
In the end when we go out to eat we want a complete experience and literally feel special and taken care of, this place has it all.

We picked up a 78 dollar porterhouse and added onions and mushrooms. The order came with no bread included even after a request and the price listed on the web page said 4 dollars to add mushrooms and onions. We were charged 8 and when we got home the mushrooms and onions were in a butter to go cup. So small it was a joke. I called to complain which I do not do but this was ridiculous. The manager said their was suppose to be two in the bag. Really two biggy (pun intended)butter sized cups. Wow now that makes me feel better.
I will use my gift cards up and I will no longer support this overpriced joint.

Being our first fine dining opportunity after a year of Covid, we were looking forward to an evening at Tony’s. I would not go so far as to say we were disappointed, but certainly not thrilled. We ordered drinks, I a bourbon on the rocks, my wife a Manhattan. Hers came with no garnish, mine had the ice already melted in the drink because of the time it must have set, waiting to be picked up. We ordered a dozen Miyagi oysters, and they delivered six of them with six blue points. Apology from the server. We ordered a bottle of excellent Cabernet which arrived barely in time to taste before the entree was served, and the server had the temerity to instruct us at length on the need to “let it breath.” Now I have been drinking good wine since long before she was born, and lessons are not required. Jane made the best entree selection, the nine ounce filet with a bearnaise sauce, it was perfectly cooked, medium rare, and the she proclaimed the sauce excellent. I ordered the rack of lamb, medium rare, and was warned by the server the rack was cooked whole, so the ends might be more medium! I told here I was not interested in “medium” lamb, and when it was delivered, the whole rack was cooked evenly to medium rare. The problem with the lamb was the steak knife they presented was so dull it required considerable hacking to cut between the chops, to the point the presentation was essentially ruined. The sauce was, however, very good. The best part of the evening was the desert, a luscious chocolate layer cake, fresh, and delicious. The biggest problem with the evening was the server who constantly talked so fast as to be nearly unintelligible, and did not take time to listen. This resulted in her apology for something or other almost every time she came to the table. The other downside to the place is the noise levels. It started out with a nice burble of voices but as the evening progressed it rose to a level that required leaning across the table to be heard. Overall, it could have been great but missed the mark with inattention to details.

Ate dinner here tonight. Satisfied with meal and service was good it just seemed stretched out. Wife and I had 6:15 reservations arrived half an hour early. Most of all of the tables were empty was told to have a drink at the bar until it go closer to our reservation time. Returned
20 mins later and seated us at the previously open table. Ordered drinks again, came back 10mis later for appetizers returned 15 later to ask for salads and dinner orders. Appetizer came out 15 minutes later, salads 20 after that and main course another 20 after that.
Reservation was for 6:15, arrived to an empty restaurant at 5:40ish left at 8ish.
Total bill $246 not including tip and first bar bill of $25 including tip.
Food was not any better that we get from our usual steak house back home just cost twice as much and took twice is long!

We celebrated my husband's birthday last weekend. The experience was perfect from the front door greeting to the service, food, and wine. They do it right. The food was great. The atmosphere was wonderful. The restaurant was sparkling clean. The service was the best we have experienced in a long time. The staff did their jobs with excellence in every way. My husband dropped his napkin and did not know it until the waiter brought him a replacement. We observed one waiter drop a piece of bread off the tray and within seconds the staff member behind him picked it up. The waiter never saw it and poor guy went looking for that bread and could not find it. I almost told him that his coworker grabbed it up in about 3 seconds!!!

Unfortunately not the best in town. I had high expectations and was disappointed. The atmosphere was too loud for conversation at the table with friends and we sat opposite ends to the live music. There were aspects of the food that were amazing. For example the tuna appetizer was delicious and the steak was delicious. Our sides with the steak were cold when they arrived. We did inform the waiter who then walked off without saying anything so we felt we offended him. Instead another guy arrived at our table who then said more sides were coming straight from the kitchen but by the time they arrived we had finished the steak or the Brussel sprouts never came at all but we were not charged for the sprouts. All well but the sprouts were what we really wanted. Unfortunately I plan to go elsewhere for steak in town where service, atmosphere and food is a step above for a little less money.

We were lucky to get a tabletop for 11 in the bar area, at the last moment. The menu was a mix of Italian and steak. We started with loaves and loaves of bread, and as they say: good bread, good food. I had the pappardelle which was al dente homemade pasta, absolutely delicious. I was able to taste the Riga-Tony, obviously a house favorite, also perfectly made, very flavorful and filling. Several of us had the steak which were a perfect medium, beautiful color, texture and flavor. But what made the night extra special was the quality of the staff and servers. Kuzma was our server and he was spot-on with every detail and very kind and pleasant. As I was finishing my meal I dropped my napkin, and one of the servers (Brook, I asked for her name because I was so impressed), clearly on her way home, stopped and picked up my napkin and went back to get me a clean one. Totally over the top in my book. This does not happen by accident. Tony's obviously hires quality people and serves quality food. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and recommend it highly.

Beef tartare was Fantastic. The portions at Thai restaurant are huge! We could not finish our meals bc we did not anticipate how large the beef tartare was going to be. Even the dinner portions are large! Definitely recommend sharing! We went with four people and ordered two beef tartares and should have ordered one to share. The rig-a-Tony was ginormous as well. We did not have enough room for dessert. Delicious and the service was excellent! They are very attentive with clearing the table, filling the water. I was impressed when a bus person dropped a dish how many staff rushed to assist. Very good service! Great live music! Nice clean atmosphere and friendly staff!
