My wife and I have supported Tony’s since it first opened and typically would buy gift cards for family and friends for an evening out. NO MORE! We recently went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were supremely disappointed. I wouldn’t be writing this review...had the restaurant reached out to us after we mailed in a comment card detailing our experience. But they didn’t respond, so here goes…. First of all, Tony’s is crowded pretty much every time we’ve been and is extremely loud. Not the place to go for a quiet, romantic dinner. The service was good and attentive; not a problem there. We ordered the porterhouse steak with baked potatoes and salad. The sides were good but the porterhouse was INEDIBLE!! It was so salty that we each only ate one bite. In hindsight, I should have said something to the waiter, but we’d already been there for quite a while, plus the adjacent table (within earshot) ordered the same thing about the same time we did and we didn’t want to possibly ruin their evening as well. We took our steak in a to-go box and brought it home. I washed it under running water and trimmed off the “outer layer”. We ate it,cut up, on a salad the next night and it was fine. My big mistake was not saying something while at the restaurant, but like I said, we’d already been there for quite some time and honestly didn’t want a long, disappointing dinner prolonged. In the future, when we want to go out for a special steak dinner, we’ll call Blue Heron or Carson’s, as they both have stellar customer service and aren’t heavy-handed with the salt shaker!More

Went based in recommendations but lots lacking as you will see in my report ( I have completed over 350 reviews in over 100 countries ). The positives . The filet mignon was excellent & the wine I picked . The rest : the salad...was tasteless . The tomatoes in the Greek salad had no taste at all although the limited cheese was tasty . We were quickly given 2 glasses of tap water & the menu but it ended there . The water ( chlorinated horrible taste was undrinkable ). Replaced it with Pellegrino which took 10 minutes from request . The waitress never came back so we had not get the wine menu . What appeared to a ‘manager type ‘ talked excessively at a table in front of us and finally as he passed by I asked him for the wine menu . The wine menu came and had to look around many time to get the waitress . She took the wine order but for at least 15 minutes she didn’t come back . Eventually a different person came . I noticed people at a nearby tenle has got some bread and after looking around again I asked a guy gibing bread to a table who came much later could be bring bread . Never came . Eventually the waitress came . Frankly it wasn’t over busy and in fact tables vacated during our time of waiting . We saw people around had different food than on the menu and asked . She said there was also a ‘bar menu ‘. Another 15 minutes later we got it and asked her not to move and ordered from it . She came back after 5-8 minutes and said the food we ordered was no longer available. We asked her again to stay ( in case she never returned ) and ordered from the main menu & again asked for the bread . The bread came with a different person after some time . We enjoyed the bread ! As above the salad was mediocre but the steak very good . I am generous in giving it 3 overall as the service was zero but the main course only was very good .More

I do not recommend. The waiters didn't seem to know what was going on. Everyone seemed lost. I will not go back. Food was good but I prefer good service.

We picked up a 78 dollar porterhouse and added onions and mushrooms. The order came with no bread included even after a request and the price listed on the web page said 4 dollars to add mushrooms and onions. We were charged 8 and when...we got home the mushrooms and onions were in a butter to go cup. So small it was a joke. I called to complain which I do not do but this was ridiculous. The manager said their was suppose to be two in the bag. Really two biggy (pun intended)butter sized cups. Wow now that makes me feel better. I will use my gift cards up and I will no longer support this overpriced joint.More

Another great meal and service. The Caesar Salad, Prime Bone In Ribeye, Filet Mignon, Mac & Cheese, Brussel Sprouts and Chocolate Dessert hit the spot. Ordered the Braised Short Rib to go for another meal as it’s perfect on a cold day with a slow...oven warmup. Will be back!More

Food was delicious. Service was wonderful. However, I did notice there didn’t seem to be any female servers. The only female employees I saw were at the hostess desk.

Unfortunately not the best in town. I had high expectations and was disappointed. The atmosphere was too loud for conversation at the table with friends and we sat opposite ends to the live music. There were aspects of the food that were amazing. For example...the tuna appetizer was delicious and the steak was delicious. Our sides with the steak were cold when they arrived. We did inform the waiter who then walked off without saying anything so we felt we offended him. Instead another guy arrived at our table who then said more sides were coming straight from the kitchen but by the time they arrived we had finished the steak or the Brussel sprouts never came at all but we were not charged for the sprouts. All well but the sprouts were what we really wanted. Unfortunately I plan to go elsewhere for steak in town where service, atmosphere and food is a step above for a little less money.More

I really enjoyed my food. We came in for a wonderful meal. I was going to the restroom and walking around looking at the wonderful decor and overheard Dave the manager cussing and berating a server. Very unprofessional and i will not be back. if...you treat your staff good they will work good for you. obviously, he hasn't learned that as a general manager of the restaurant.More

This restaurant definitely deserves and excellent rating as the service was extremely attentive and knowledgeable! The food was amazing and the wine and bourbon list was very impressive. Unfortunately, like many restaurants now-a-days, the noise level in this restaurant was extremely loud. We were a...party of eight. Half the table, I didn’t even try to communicate with as I would have lost my voice by the end of the appetizer. I had enough trouble just yelling to the two folks sitting directly across from me and directly next to me…. Again, the food and service are definitely five star - I docked Tony’s for the noise level.More

I'll start by saying this - my husband and I ate here for our anniversary, and loved absolutely everything. When my parents flew from halfway around the world, we excitedly took them to Tony's. The food, bartender, and servers were absolutely wonderful. Our disappointment and...lower rating is because of the hostess, and floor manager (not sure if this is their title, but I'm referring to the supervisor type person who goes around and checks on guests during their meals). We made a reservation and showed up about 15 minutes early. The 2 hostesses told us to wait at the bar, and they would call us at 6:30, when our table would be ready. I looked, and there were several tables open. We still waited at the bar, as requested. Several groups the same size as ours, and even bigger than ours, came in after us, and were seated right away. 6:45 came and went, and they still didn't come to get us. I went to the hostess, and asked them if our table was ready. Their replies: "oh, did you make a reservation?" "what time is your reservation?" "is your whole party here? we can't sit you, if they're not." They had no intention of calling us from the bar, because they couldn't even remember us. The floor manager also went around to all the guests, EXCEPT US, to see how things were going. I am a Pacific Islander, and obviously my parents are, as well. We were the only ones (from where we could see) who were not white. I don't think it's a race issue. I think it's just a rude hostess & floor manager issue. My husband said not to sugar coat it. The hostesses were blonde & blue eyed. Floor manager was white also. All the parties who came in after us and were seated, while we waited "for our table to be ready" were white.More

Amazing restaurant, with excellent management (David) and great wait staff (Jeremy). The food was fantastic, and unique to Tony's. The must have is the sweet potato mash. It is a perfect pairing to the Bourbon Trail, and leave some to put on ice cream after...dinner. The collard greens and Brussel sprouts were also unlike I have ever had. Steak was cooked to perfection. If you are in Lexington, this is a go to, and ask for Brooke's award winning old fashioned.More

We were in town to drop our daughter off at university of Kentucky and took her to Tony’s. It was a great choice. The food was amazing as was the service! Our waiter, Jackson, was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The meal was priced at the...high end and, at those prices, we expected a wonderful experience and that’s exactly what we received!More
