Merrick Inn has the best Fried Chicken!. It is a beautiful old place with good old southern hospitality. Service is great and all items on the menu are perfectly prepared. You can't beat the Fried Chicken.

If you like old beautiful rooms with fireplaces, excellent service, and good (not excellent) food you will enjoy the Merrick Inn. Friday evening special was prime rib, and done very well. They have added a new stone outdoor huge wood burning fireplace since I was there last, and if warm enough I would try outdoor seating near this location. I... More

At one time, Merrick Inn was our go-to place for any special occasion. We hadn't eaten there for a while, but tried it recently for our anniversary dinner. It was the best meal I've had in quite a long time. The service was attentive and the food was amazing. I had the seafood special, halibut with a maple poblano sauce... More

A fabulous dinner in a wonderful setting. Dinner and cocktails were top notch and delicious and provide a regional twist. Some great Kentucky history. The service was perfect and were willing to share the history. A must stop in Lexington!

Had dinner with friends this weekend at Merrick Inn. What a beautiful place. The meal was really good, service as quick and attentive even on a very crowed Friday night and the server was excellent. One in our party had the fried chicken and we all had to have a bite or two. Excellent.

Meat meals are great and the service is also outstanding... good variety of drinks and eating outdoors in the evening can be romantic. Best described as Kentucky home cooked meal.

Dinner at the Merrick Inn is like having a nice, quiet, home cooked meal IF your Mom is a world class chef. The atmosphere is so intimate, just a handful of tables in each room, so conversation is easy and private, the servers set a whole new level, it's like being served by a long-time friend. The food is amazing,... More

Entertained a group of 9 (business dinner) Wednesday, October 12. We were fortunate to be seated upstairs in a private room, which is much quieter than downstairs. The dinner was a success in every way. Good atmosphere, good food, and good conversation. Cocktails are very good at the Merrick, especially the bourbon slushie which was recommended to us by our... Took some guests from CA to dinner at The Merrick Inn. The ambiance and decor is great. The service was excellent. The food was good but not up to their normal standard. The beer cheese appetizer was a little too smoky for my taste, others said they liked it but most was left on the plate. The Sweet Onion Soup... More

For years the Merrick Inn has produced a menu of consistently high quality locally sourced items leading the way for fine dinning in the area. The fried banana peppers and grouper fingers can start your meal in the right direction. If you want a local taste of excellence, try the hot brown. The fried chicken is fit for white linen... More
