The sushi is good, not great but the star attraction is the ramen. I had the tonkatsu ramen which was delicious and at just $12 in a covid world of restaurant pricing quite the bargain for a savory broth, nice slices of pork and perfect noodles. The service was also excellent.

I stumbled upon this place from a Reddit thread debating what the best ramen shop in Lexington was. Tachibana was the clear winner, and allegedly where all of the Japanese Toyota execs visiting the Georgetown plant go, and having eaten here a few times I certainly see why. I've tried a few variations of their ramen, and they're all amazing. This place provided my first experience with "Duck Broth Ramen", and it is hands down now my favorite style. The Gyoza (a personal favorite appetizer) is easily the best I've had, and the sushi is incredibly fresh, well thought out, and never disappointed. Their uni is hard to come back (they buy fresh, and have a limited supply), but is also hands down the best I've had outside of Seattle. If you like Japanese style food, this place is worth a special trip for.

The best tempura in town: perfectly drained (only the onion is at all oily), fresh and hot but never too hot to eat. The tem-don is close to a perfect meal, the fry set also very good for a lighter fried entree. Atmosphere is pleasant. Definitely going back.

The Tachibana restaurant was just down the road from my hotel so i decided to come here. Im very glad i did. Sushi was very tasty and so was the pork tatsu. The miso soup seemed a little off but was not a big deal.

My Husband and I were so excited to eat here after 3 years. We had not because of family sickness. The sushi rolls were not as good as Kroger and the Sushimi deluxe was good but not great. I was so disapponited. I tell everyone about the great Sushi and the photos are not accurate at all. They have really changed for the worse.

We’ve been here since it opened and are never disappointed. High-quality food and staff. We used to come just for the sushi and noodle soup. Now we go into the restaurant and have a larger meals.

Enjoyed our meal. The menu has a great selection with pictures and descriptions. The sushi was wonderful and presented well. The food was excellent. They are also a Hilton dining member for points. Will definitely return for another meal.

I read one of the reviews which stated that Tachibana was the best restaurant in AMERICA!!. Either they own it or I needed to be drunk when I ate there. This was by far the worst Japanese restaurant we have ever been in, and yes we also have been in numerous Japanese restaurants. We ordered Chicken Teriyaki and vegetable fried rice. The chicken was overcooked and very dry. I have tasted much better chicken teriyaki at a Panda Express. Perhaps they need to go to a Panda (if they have any in Kentucky) to see how to cook it. The problem is as far as I see it, they cook the chicken by itself without any apparent salt or pepper and as they plated it, they pour some teriyaki on top. We return it and opted for the beef teriyaki. It was exactly the same problem. They cook the meat (no flavor) and they plated it with a small cup of teriyaki next to it for dipping. The rice was just average and not close to what I expected from a Japanese restaurant where about 99% of the time you get finger licking good food. The service from our waitress was terrible. We saw her once and after that we talked to 3 other waitresses. On top of that the restaurant has a musty odor of old wood. Not pleasant.

I haven't had any other Japanese food outside Japan, that taste as good as or as authentic the food at Tachibana. I have never been disappointed by the food or the staff, in all the years I have eaten here. Myself and my guest have always been treated, with great respect and like family every time. Every dish and meal is the right proportion and is fresh especially the sushi and sashimi. I would highly recommend this restaurant if your ever in Lexington Ky.

We were staying in Lexington one night on our cross country drive. Near the hotel was Tachibana’s. As it was late, and not wanting to drive further, we walked over. We were greatly and pleasantly surprised! The salmon sashimi was fresh and the special appetizer of scallops, divine! The staff is friendly and accommodating. Too bad we don’t live closer!

DID NOT like there food or atmosphere. There isn't a Japanese restaurant in my hometown so I was excited to have something different for dinner. I have been to other Japanese restaurants when traveling and have always enjoyed the food very much. This place was a major disappointment. I ordered a rice and shrimp dish. The shrimp was cut into small pieces to make it look like more I'm guessing but probably no more than 3-4 shrimp! There meal was all this pasty, tasteless rice. I am not a picky eater but could barely eat their food and WILL Not be returning.

I don't frequent Tachibana more often because I am normally eating other cuisines while visiting Lexington. I have been here several times in the past few years. It is a convenient stop off of the interstate and a sushi bar is always a great place to visit when traveling alone. First of all, if you aren't aware - Lexington has a higher population of Japanese restaurants than most people would expect. The nearby Toyota factory has brought in a Japanese population - and for that, I am thankful!!!! Tachibana always has a lot of Japanese people frequenting, so I believe it is indeed, authentic! On this visit, I sat at the bar as always, and had a sashimi appetizer and ahi roll. Both of these were $12, and I also had a blass of plum wine. The servers at the bar were friendly, the sushi fresh and beautiful. Whether you are looking for sushi of a hot Japanese dish - don't miss this place!

They have regular menu, sushi and habaci grill. A lot of options. Must be authentic due to number of Japanese families dining there.
