Food was good tasting with plentiful serving sizes. Fried Shrimp with rice pilaff & snap peas was at a good price for amount served. Chicken Gorgonzola Penne was more than enough also for one person.

I visited for the first time with my wife on Valentines Day weekend. The calamari had a nice breading and came with a lobster sauce. I would highly recommend it. We ordered the two most popular entrees. The Fra Diavolo had fresh scallops and well seasoned shrimp. The Manzo Pasta had slices of tender steak cooked medium along with onions. Both were fantastic but we liked the Manzo the best. For dessert we had the bread pudding and chocolate mouse. Both were unbelievably good. The only disappointment was the coffee. I would have expected better coffee from an Italian restaurant. I wouldn’t hesitate to dine here again.

We reserved the private room for our mom’s 75th birthday party. We had 12 in our group and the room had plenty of room for more. Nicely decorated and the doors close which made great for conversations. The restaurant was busy which made the private room even better for our gathering. The service and food could not have been better. Our waitress was just the best. Our appetizers came out quick and our waitress never let our drinks run dry. Everyone’s main course was cooked to order and everyone loved their food with my wife mentioning it was the most tender grilled chicken she ever had. First time at Sutton’s only due to where we live but have heard about it for years. We will be back. Also failed to mention Gordon’s quick reply on our email when looking for a private room. Really great place. Thank you to all at Sutton’s who made our mom’s birthday the best

I came here with my date for dinner after church, as we both haven’t been to this restaurant in a while, and wanted to try something different. Upon entering, you must wear a mask as the staff is wearing theirs, and once seated you can take it off. I’ll never understand this method but they’re complying with the covid rules. There’s no dividers but they do space you out far from any other tables. I ordered the mussels appetizer as my main dish, and my date had their French onion soup. The food was good, but not enough for me to come running back. I’ve spoiled my taste buds and had better quality mussels elsewhere. Also, my date didn’t enjoy the French onion soup, was disappointed in the bland taste. Overall, the experience was good, our waitress took great care of us and we took care of her. Unfortunately, we were told the bar was open until 11pm but it actually closed @10 pm with the entire restaurant. I’ll come back here again to try one of their many pasta dishes, whenever I’ll be in the mood for a carb filled meal.

Hello Miss Sassy, thank you for taking the time to send us a review. Unfortunately, we did not meet your expectations. Our hours of operation have significantly changed since March of 2020. Our mussel recipe has not changed, nor the French Onion soup. I am surprised that these two menu items did not exceed your expectations. We hope you will try those items again soon, as they very rarely disappoint. Most guests rave about them both. If you try us again, ask for me or any manager personally. We simply would have made sure the product was served as intended, which would have been more impressive. Safe travels, Gordon

The food was ok but really not worth the price. The house wine was very good and the bread was fresh. Our server was very knowledgeable about menu items and made some great suggestions. There was a strong seafood smell when we entered the restaurant....strange.

We were on our way to Cumberland and wanted to try something new. So very glad we found Sutton's Family Italian. It was hands down the best service, appetizer, main dish, and dessert we have had in years. HIGHLY recommend the Manzo Parmesean Pasta! Bring your appetite, the portions are large enough to share. Cannot wait to come back and try more. Thank you Gordon for introducing yourself to our table, your passion for excellent food and service shows!

Enjoyed a wonderful meal at Suttons this evening. We recently moved to Lexington. Since we moved, my wife, who craves Fish and Chips every Friday, has been disappointed in the options available in town.
Set up the review. Not only did Suttons have Fantastic Fish and chips, the Chicken Marsala I had, was as good, if not better, than the Marsala we enjoyed at Carmines, in NYC. Kudos to Suttons. You have been one our go to restaurant in Lexington.

Nice "depression era gangster" motif. Photos on all walls were very interesting, and added a little 'something'. I only had the basic meal of spaghetti w/meatballs. portion was satisfactory, sauce was good, and meatballs were unusal in their shape. Very obviously home made. Wine selection was acceptable. If in Lexington again, I would patronize again.

Too loaded with red pepper to be edible. Ruined a normally good entree. Tried picking a few pieces of penne out and didn't complain. Waitress noticed I didn't eat it and insisted I choose a replacement. Manager came over and accused me of eating too much of it. Refused to replace it. Told me I should have asked for a replacement sooner. Like that would have made a difference? Interesting approach to customer service.

Hello Glenda. We don't usually have complaints about any of our food. The manager was confused by your complaint when you ate all the shrimp every piece of pasta except for two penne noodles and about a tablespoon worth of sauce. We would have gladly replaced your meal with something less spicy. As you read on the menu the item clearly states this item is very spicy. There's actually no red pepper in the dish. The seeds you encountered came from fresh jalapenos and chipotle peppers. I'm sorry that we failed you in having a more enjoyable experience. We care deeply about each and every experience in our restaurant. So when we fail it hurts. However, in this case, we will not be changing our recipe as this has become an extremely popular dish over the last two years. Sincerely, Gordon

Absolutely delicious Italian food! Highest quality ingredients, everything homemade or handmade. Old school Italian portions and great value. Pepperoni pups, meatballs, lasagna, and any dish with their house made sausage is fantastic.

We stumbled across this restaurant by accident and we're so glad we did! The food was fabulous and the wait staff was awesome. We ate in the bar and the 2 women working that area worked as a team. tending the bar and waiting on the tables. They were efficient, very friendly, and truly illustrated teamwork. We also had a chance to visit with the owner and he was gracious and clearly, a committed local local restaurant owner. As a final bonus, there is a great beer bottle and can collection (the owner's) displayed on the shelves in the bar which brought back many great memories of beer I used to drink in my younger years (including Buckhorn, $3.99 a case back in the late 1970s). If you're looking for an unpretentious, friendly, locally-owned restaurant with great food, Sutton's is the place for you!

This spot has authentic Italian food and is family owned. The menu offers something for everyone and is great for a casual date night or with a large group of friends. This place is definitely worth checking out!

My wife and I have been going to Sutton’s for many years. The Italian dishes are always very good. The sandwiches are good also, and if you’re in the mood for pizza, their pizza is good too. Good happy hour. Nice patio for alfresco dining when the weather is good. Prices are reasonable, and the staff is pleasant and friendly.

Sutton's Restaurant in Lexington, KY, exceeded my expectations for authentic Italian cuisine. The pasta dishes were perfection, and the flavors were spot-on. We like to sit in the bar area there are usually 5-7 of us and this has never been a problem for them. Food is always delicious and service is spot on. Wine down Wednesday is a great time to go for 1/2 price bottles, our favorite day!
