Marvelous patio dining which is really what saved the evening. Appetizer dips were quite good. Burger was good, but we had to ask three times for mayo and ketchup. The platter was served without any condiments and the server was in no hurry to provide...our request. Hence, we asked three times. Dinner was cold by the time the request was fulfilled. Shrimp and grits were the real disappointment. The Gouda grits were quite good, but the entree was swimming in grease. I left three shrimp uneaten. It was just too greasy.More

My wife and I ate at Nick Ryan's as we travelled from our home in South Carolina to Michigan. We were the first table seated - we ate dinner at 5:45 since we had been in the car for 8 hours. Nick Ryan's was on...a short list of locally owned restaurants on a list we received from a Marriott hotel where we stayed. What a good meal! My wife had the salmon while I enjoyed the Spicy Chicken. Both were great and the service was also very good. On top of that the wine was value priced. This place is one of those that we will remember when we drive through Lexington again. I'm glad we tried it.More

Service was good. Atmosphere of crowded and noisy bar. The most incredible thing was how utterly horrible my entree was. Two onion rings with a bun and a fried chicken patty with melted Velveeta cheese on it. The menu did not accurately portray what was...delivered. I tried to eat it and simply could not. No recourse was offered and I paid and left Never to returnMore

Our server Allan was excellent. Made recommendations for the menu and cocktails. Great steak which I could cut with a fork.

Main thing about this restaurant, nestled close to convention center in Lexington Ky, is their hospitality. Menus and service great also. In a downtown neighborhood, 3 blocks from Rupp arena, quaint, was perfect. Parking on street, small parking area behind, available parking close by. I...recommend it. We loved it.More

We arranged a celebration for my mother's birthday. We had a private room with white table cloths and flowers on the tables. There was one waitress dedicated to our group. The food was real good and served as requested. The manager was attentive to our...needs and requests. They did a fabulous job! I am sure to return again!!More

Food is awesome and there’s a good mix of casual/comfort food as well as a more upscale options. Staff is always friendly. Patio is great. Onions rings are extra crispy, Mac n cheese is extra cheesy, and drinks are extra yummy. I would suggest reservations...when there’s an event at Rupp or on weekend nights but during the week you can usually get in without a wait.More

Ten of us showed up on a Friday night. I didn't think we'd get in and if we did not at the same table. They put tables together and we had fabulous food AND perfect service. Everyone of us completely enjoyed our meals and the...people tolerated us. We will go back. Maybe not all together. Ha! Enjoy.More

We were a party of 6 on our monthly date night. We decided to try this restaurant as we had heard good things about it. We did call for reservations about a month ahead of time. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. The...restaurant is quaint and decorated with a horse theme. We are in the bluegrass of course. We started with calamari with a spicy chili dipping sauce and one of their specialties of corn fritters with honey butter. They were delicious!!! The table was pretty eclectic with our ordering. I had the grilled pork chop with an apple/onion chutney with the gouda cheese grits and grilled asparagus. The pork chop was thick and cooked well done to my liking. The apple chutney was a little strong for me so I did not eat that. The gouda grits were over the top. I could have just eaten those. The asparagus was nothing special and cold. I did not complain. One person in our party asked for a glass of ice as her tea was hot now. She never received it. Our server seemed over whelmed. Too many tables in our opinion. He was pleasant and very nice. We ended up asking a manager for refills and condiments. I ended my dinner with the flourless chocolate torte. It was not very good at all. The consistency was more like pudding. I would not order that again. My husband had the Nutella brownie with a scoop of ice cream and he really enjoyed it. Attire was anything from jeans to suits. Overall it was a good night out. We would probably try this one again. Tip: parking can be tricky downtown. There is a gravel lot behind the restaurant. There is no sign so be on the lookout.More
