This was during COVID 19. I really wanted to sit outdoors and enjoy some food and margaritas, but the indoor and outdoor facility was packed. The wait was an hour. The staff was wearing masks, but there were tons of people waiting around outside without...masks. So I chose to do takeout to try to respect the fact that we are in a pandemic. I got all of their tacos (served in quantities of three each with beans and rice). I got braised beef, pork, cauliflower, and adobo chicken. The chicken and pork were dry. The most flavorful tacos (and the ones there were moist) were the cauliflower and beef tacos. The beans and rice were good, with green onions, red onions, and tomatoes. I also got chips with the salsa trio as well as queso dip. All of the dips were bursting with flavor and the chips were properly prepared. If I had to choose, I would go with the salsa trio, as the dips were light and refreshing and offered a huge spectrum of flavors. I got the house margarita to go. Too generic and sweet for me, too heavy. But again, this was a 16 oz delivery bottle of margarita, so I have to give it a pass. Can’t rate this establishment’s margs based on this alone. The tacos are quite small. This is ok for me, as I like tapas fare, but they are 13-15 dollars for three of them, so a little on the higher side. Ok by me, but some people might not like the size or the price. Three tacos and the chips and salsa were plenty for me. I expected more. I’ve had better. I am not ok with how they are handling COVID 19 restrictions/precautions. But overall, if things return to normal, I might try them again. But not for takeout.More

It was pretty good. I had the braised short rib tacos and the chicken tacos with queso and chips. It is definitely more Americanized “Mexican food” but overall it was good. The queso was good!!

I've been here a few times now and I have never really ordered from the menu. I always go with a few friends and we just ask our server or bartender what they recommend that night and they bring a few small plates out. It's...always great. We do the same ordering drinks. They are always making some new delicious concoction.More

Modern and cool design. Always packed. Very loud. Most dishes are small. Thus you order a couple of them and share. Large bar selection. Fast and nice service.

You can order a ton of small plates to share. They have gluten-free marked on their menu, which is helpful.

We stopped here for a quick bit after exploring downtown Lexington. It was a little tough to find if you're using iPhone maps (its RIGHT on the corner... literally the entrance is at an angle at the corner). I had the Adobo Chicken Tacos and...my S.O. had the Barrel Smoked Pork tacos (with only pork, no toppings.) He enjoyed the first round enough to order a second plate. There are only two smaller corn tortillas to each order, which was a little disappointing for $7 but they were VERY good and unique with their flavorings and ingredients. We didn't order anything additional while we were there but the place was very cool. We enjoyed chatting with the young lady at the bar who was a student at one of the nearby colleges.More

I'll be honest, I had very high expectations prior to my first dining experience at Corto Lima. At the time of this writing, it is the highest rated restaurant in Lexington, KY per TripAdvisor. I finally talked my wife into trying it out on a...rare date night. We knew to get there early so that we could get a seat. We arrived at 5PM and the place was nearly at capacity already. Once seated, our waitress was pleasant and gave us recommendations, but after that, her checkups were few and far between. We ordered several small plates including the potatoes, the ribeye, the Cuban and the chicken. Unfortunately, none were served piping hot, but all were full of flavor and very tasty! I would certainly recommend the steak or the chicken small plate. This is a very unique menu and great addition to the Lexington food scene. We'll likely go back and try something different from their scrumptious menu. If you decide to go, go early! The seating is limited and it fills up quick. Hopefully the waitress will be a bit more attentive than what we experienced and the food will be served a little warmer.More

We really enjoyed the visit. Very energetic and fun waitress. Although it was very crowded, we were seated and waited on quickly. Decent selection of wine and Latin beers. The guacamole appetizer was really good with freshly cooked corn chips. We ordered three style tacos...and they were all amazing. Also ordered the house salad, which was just OK -could have used more vinaigrette. We did not care for the plantain empanadas, and when asked how we were doing by the waitress, she quickly remedied by removing them from our bill and substituting with another choice from the menu.More
