Three of us decided to meet up at this pub for lunch, having read some of the reviews and deciding to return there after a gap of 10 years (the gap being for family reasons, not previous disappointment). We gathered that the current landlord has been in post for about just 4 months. We were welcomed well enough by the... More

Popped in again for a lunchtime meal as I was passing by, nice to see it open unlike many other local places I passed by. Huge burger cooked to perfection in a brioche bun, loads of homemade coleslaw, hand cut chips and salad. Nice to see trade is picking up and there were several people eating. Friendly service from the... More

Booked a table as a party of 4 last Sunday. Been to the Arms many times under several previous owners (not always happily) so I was curious to see how it was going with the new owners. We all enjoyed our lunch and choice of beers very much, served up promptly by an enthusiastic young crew. The choice of food... More

We found this gem in my husbands good pub guide. The guide said food was served from 6.00pm but when we arrived we found out on Friday they don't start till 7.00pm and did takeaway fish & chips 6.00pm - 7.00pm, however they where more than happy to let us sit down for a lovely meal. Even better was we... More

Just returned from yet another Brewers Arms OAP Lunchtime meal. Quality food and fantastic value. This is a pub that sells pub food - good stuff and plenty of it - prepared and delivered by people who care!

Such a lovely pub! Great homemade food and lovely welcome by the staff.I visited The Brewers arms during the week on two occasions as I was on a two day course in nearby Stowmarket. Myself and my colleague had lunch. I had the cheese ploughmans which was delicious! The pickle and coleslaw were homemade and everything was very fresh and... More

Although the room was rather nice, the food here was unimaginative, although reasonably-priced. It was also a little absurd - for example, warm vegetables served with a cold quiche; had the latter been heated, the meal would have been so much better. Equally, the bolognese was so drowned in garlic that I reeked for days after.

We were unlucky, I think, to have missed the Sunday lunch period by arriving after it had finished. We were welcomed in a friendly manner to a pub with several customers in it but were told that no sandwiches were available either. So we made do with a drink and a couple of packets of crisps. Disappointing really.
