The environment is nice, but the food not that much. All from prefabricated foods. Definitely avoid burger, the meat taste like plastic.
Mix of several cuisines. Local beer shop a good with option for tasting flavors. Food was disappointing - definitely not worth asking price.
We had a lunch in the restaurant and the service was fast and nice and we enjoyed the food. Ee ordered a beef consommé and goat cheese salad as starters and then we had two dishes from the Asian menu and both were delicious. We...finished with a tasteful cappuccino.More
We have stopped for one night on our trip in Bavarian-Czech forest and we were disappointed. The pension has OK rooms and bath and very nice setting, but the rest was disappointing. The place is set up for all visitors including families with babies and...dogs running around during breakfast and dinner. The reception ( pleasant lady) could not find a receipt that hotel took 1/2 payment up front. The restaurant did not have any typical Czech meal, selection was weird and the food was grossly overpriced. The restaurant décor was dated and worn out in comparison with a Bavarian pensions on other side of the mountains just a few miles away. No screens in the rooms window so you need to keep it close to not been eaten alive by mosquitoes. The service personnel fits above - average with no frills. Not recommended.More
We spent few nights in the hotel and tried burger, local trout (siven) and salat. All was fine but not gourmet. All wines we had were very good.
The meals were great 👍🏻 and tasty. However, in Modrava I was expecting a bit more local ( Czech) food. Also, price wise it was set more for a central Prague, then south west Bohemia. Otherwise, a good restaurant.
Friendly and kind staff, good beer and nachos. Tasty coffee, wine and mix drinks. We are coming again tomorow for a lunch.
It was one of the most beautiful places that I have visited in Czech Republic. The view of the veranda outside its fantastic, the food excellent and the wine fantastic. We went there for three days in a row. Lunch and dinner. 5 Stars
Interesting international menu, however we chose a local game dish (jeleni steak) and enjoyed it immensely. Service was friendly & fast.
We stopped there for a lunch and came back the next day as the food and service was really cool. Nice change to all the heavy and fatty Czech food you can get all over. Caesar salad to be recommended :-)

Part of the Hotel Madr in Modrava. Really tasty and freshly prepared food. Microbrewery beers served by friendly staff. Well worth a stay.
During our short stay at Sumava we repeated lunch at this place because our experience was very good. Food was delicious at moderate price. Service was very warm and friendly. Christmas day menu was good. We will come back once back to Sumava to check...the standard. All vegetarian plates vere delicious.Try Feijoada if need some meet. The very good experience. They are ready for a family with children, have well assembled menu. The good quality food, the best baby food /fish and chips/ in the restaurant during the last three weeks. Very interesting selection of wines and beers.
