The food is good an comes out fairly fast the night cook is the best one there an the waitress is nice an comes to the table regularly but the atmosphere sucks when u can hear the owner cussing an screaming at the employees like...they don't kno what there doing I'll not go back because of the way the employees are treated an if u get your order wrong he throws a fit an tells you that you should of told earlier or he don't need you as a customer.More
This is a small place on the bank of the Ky River under the bridge. It sits just feet from the river bank, with a broad view of the river, a few house boats and the underside of the bridge super structure and the L&N...railroad train tracks on the far bank. The main restaurant attached to tall poles and able to float when the river is in flood stage. Inside, the atmosphere is that of a modest diner with ceramic dishware, thin stainless steel flatware and big plastic beverage tumblers. It is clean and spacious with a buffet counter on Sundays. The restrooms were well maintained and clean. Most of the menu is some kind of deep fried item with a few sandwiches and wraps. Fried food is often delicious, but in this case was fried nearly beyond recognition. The overcooked entree was accompanied by instant mashed potatoes, flavorless side dishes, and yellow corn bread. The cole slaw was pretty good. Service was fairly quick and very friendly. The dishes were bussed quickly and the server came around to offer dessert and coffee. We were offered a breakfast menu at dinner time, so I assume breakfast is served all day. The menu was printed on a single page and laminated. Menu prices are very reasonable, with items a inexpensive as a few dollars up to about $10 for the most expensive item. I would be willing to pay a little more for better quality. Rader's River Grill has the potential to be a great southern diner, but they have some work to do.More
Rader's is a great casual spot for local dining in Irvine. Located directly beneath the Irvine bridge next to downtown, the restaurant actually floats when the river floods. Great burgers, hand-breaded chicken tenders, fried pickles and other "bar-style" food. Also, nice daily specials of country...cookin' favorites like roast beef and fried chicken. Great atmosphere right on the river. Definitely worth a stop when you're in the area!More
