During our stay at the Beaumont Inn in Harrodsburg, KY, we decided to check out Shakertown Village which is only a 10 minute drive from the Inn. We were there on a Sunday and business was as usual. We toured, on foot, some of the buildings and gift shops and learned about the way of life of the Shakers. Just... More

I have been there many times and make it a point to take out of state visitors. The food and atmosphere are great and don't miss the chance to take the riverboat cruise at Shaker Landing. If you are not familiar with the Shaker history, do a little internet investigation before you go so you can more deeply appreciate what... More

The Shakers were a dedicated hardworking bunch that made contributions to U S history. This is the largest collection of historical building in the country. Paired up with the river boat ride & lunch made for an enjoyable day. Lots to absorb and recommend the 30 minute guided info's at the meeting house & walking tour. There is much to... More

I would have given this restaurant an excellent rating but when I arrived, there was no hostess at the entry. Wait was a little long. But after being seated, the service was attentive and the food was excellent. I do recommend the restaurant because I believe it wasn't a normal experience at the door and emergencies do happen that can... More

What an awesome place.!! I loved the stone walls, buildings, farm, gardens. Just too much to list. Bicycles are readily available for the taking and riding. Beauty and history were all around. Most of the food was fresh from the garden. This should be on anybody's list that wants to enjoy the beauty that Kentucky holds. There will be something... More

The village is a step back in time and quite a peaceful lovely place. There are buildings to admire and a farm as well as arts and crafts.

We ate several meals here and we were well pleased with all the dishes we selected. The cole slaw is delicious and we thought the buttermilk pie was even better than the famous lemon pie!

This is the second time we visited Shaker Village for food in the last 6 months. The first time we had to eat in what they call "the porch." It is a narrow space along an outside wall of the Trustees House. Our lunch was very mediocre. At the time we chalked it up to poor service as an adjunct... More

We had three couples in our party. Decided to have dinner after The Oaks. Our waitress was very efficient and knowledgable regarding the menu. To start, you are treated to a wonderful basket of yeast rolls and cornbread, great beginning of your meal. My husband and one other had the fried chicken. It was perfect in every way. Crispy, perfectly... More

The breakfast included both hot and cold items, biscuits and gravy, grits, and much more! It was so nice to come downstairs from our stay at Shaker Village Trustees' building and have a quick breakfast in such lovely environs before starting our day. Everyone was friendly and helpful!
