We made reservations on our arrival and then toured the village. We were seated promptly when we returned. As one might expect the décor is Shaker. The Tomato Celery Soup ($2.95) sounded good and it was. We ordered the Tart and the Turnpike Sandwich (each $12.95.) The sandwich was large enough to share but its side of potato salad was... More

We enjoyed our lunch at the trustee table at the inn in shaker village. The surroundings put you back in time and the lunch was a menu similar to what the shakers would have had. It was a fair price, food was good and the wait staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable.

When we booked, they recommended going ahead and booking a seating for dinner and breakfast, and we were glad we did. It is very popular. For dinner, even with a reserved seating time, you may still have to wait. Breakfast seems to go a little more smoothly since it is a buffet instead of made to order. Breakfast is simple,... More

We first visited The Trusee's Table in 2006. The building was beautiful, the food absolutely delicious, and service was impecable. That weekend, we also ate at another popular restaurant there in Mercer County, but was most pleased with The Trustee's Table. So much so, we returned a couple of years later while at a conference in Lexington, just to have... More

We of course were visiting the Shaker Village grounds when we happened upon the property restaurant inside the Trustee's House and so glad we did. While the menu really isn't anything fancy, it does emphasize farm-to-table as it attempts to use the on-site garden nearby. The food was delicious! There is no other way to say it. We also loved... Get the pulled pork sandwich and lemon pie! Great service and hospitality. Chair seats were a little small for our modern anatomies. Food greatfor adults but not much for kids as I overheard some kids complaining about the type of food, that was served. More of an adult dining selection.

I booked lodging here once before about 5 years ago and remembered what a special place this was, but I had forgotten just how special. It was a Shaker community for most of the 19th century, home to 500 during its peak. Today it is a destination in itself, with multiple types of lodging (we had a room in the... More

From the atmosphere to the food and service, this place was fantastic and topped off a wonderful day at the Shaker Village. The food was fresh and fantastic, some of which was grown right there, a must if you are in the area

Shakers made a significant contribution to the history of Kentucky during the Great Awakening, so it is a real event to walk the village at Pleasant Hill and see the remains of this once vibrant community. Even though no Shakers have lived there for many, many years, the community is well preserved and steeped in history. The guided tours, music... More
