About
The Old Stone Farmhouse is an award winning, fine dining restaurant. Set in a wooded valley this restaurant is located in a 200 year old restored field house on the lush countryside of St. Thomas. It was created as a stable for a nearby Danish sugar plantation, and the walls are more than 2 feet thick. Ceiling fans and breezes blowing through the valley keep the place cool. The building's distinctive character is shown with native stone walls, original hardwood floors, brick arches, and a charming covered palm-lined courtyard. The restaurant features "Chef Inspired" fine dining in an intimate and elegant atmosphere. The cuisine is ingredient driven and will change with each season. The Old Stone Farmhouse is one of the most romantic and elegant dinner settings anywhere, offering old-world charm and a second-to-none dining experience. Personalized attention makes dining here a delight.

Was here for rehearsal dinner and everything was spectacular and delicious. You can tell everything is house made and the chef takes pride in what he serves. The wait staff was phenomenal, our water glasses were never empty as well as our cocktails. My steak was up to par with other highly credible steakhouse back home. A+

This was my favorite dinner spot on our St Thomas vacation. The wine list was great, there were several options for vegetarians, the staff was attentive and knowledgeable, and the ambiance was wonderful. I rated it as 4 instead of 5 stars because my husband felt his steak lacked seasoning of any kind and his lobster was also bland. Also, for $38 the piece of steak our daughter got was only 4 bites of food. For a $400 meal their food overall could’ve been better. My gnocchi was the best I’ve ever had, so no complaints from me!

The location in the old plantation is very pleasant, the service - excellent and the food itself was quite decent. However, we felt the prices were simply too high for the caliber of the dishes ($50+ for a meat entree, $60+ for fish). Not sure if this is due to the resort mentality (people on vacation open their pocketbooks more readily), or the generally high food cost on the island.

The food was just okay - overpriced for what you get in terms of quality and portion. You get the impression from their setup (gated entrance, pretentious servers, tiny portion sizes, strange "valet" parking) that they are trying to hold themselves out as a first rate New York City type restaurant, but only their prices are in line with New York's restaurants. Given their location on the island of St. Thomas, I expected more local color - both on the menu as well as in their staff. The only positive was the building itself, which had a lot of character. They could do a better job neatening up the outside though - a bit shabby, and not in a good way!

We were staying in a villa close by to the Old Stone Farmhouse. We went for our anniversay, it was our first time eating at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly. The room where our table was, was really beautiful. I think we both wished the food was a bit better then it was. As others have mentoned, the portions are small which we expected. We may try it again on our next trip to the island and give it another shot. We eat at a lot of fine dining locations both at home and when we travel, just feel the food could have been better especially for the price point.

This restaurant has been up and down in quality over the many years we have been eating there. I am writing a review to the restaurant directly, rather than a public criticism. My hope is that they improve so i can write a 5 star entry after our next visit.

This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. Tucked away in the hills, in a reclaimed sugar plantation, this hidden gem is well worth the journey. The service is top notch from the valet to the waiters, the food is absolutely amazing. We went in the evening and sat in the courtyard, which is very romantic and wistful. We ordered warm, handmade french baguette with freshly churned garlic butter, a burrata appetizer that was so delicious, my husband had the steak frites for dinner - he loved it. I ordered the Caribbean lobster, it was amazing. And for dessert a deconstructed affogato (handmade vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso poured over) along with biscotti - truly to die for. (Would recommend calling ahead to get a reservation as it does book up). Honestly, you will enjoy this immensely.

As a local Old Stone Farm has always been one of my favorite restaurant on island food, service, and ambiance always a 10. Date night yesterday evening was awesome! I had the petite filet with the lumb Crab topping literally melts in your month my husband had the local grouper over creamy rice so fresh. We also shared the jumbo cake apetizer and the mussel both super good. If your visiting or live on island Old Stone is a most!

We went here for dinner and the food was amazing. So much better then Prime restaurant. It’s a charming quiet place that’s upscale. No view but the atmosphere and delicious food made up for it. From the home made baguette, to entrees and desserts it was exceptional. The valet parking was bonus and the service was all five star. Go up the skyline for view. Skip prime for dinner and go here.

Dinner at this restaurant was the highlight of food on our 1 week trip to St. Thomas. The tuna poke was absolutely delicious as well as the grouper and the mahi-mahi. Evan our server took good care of us. The atmosphere is also classy, original and unspoiled by hurricane damage. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a special dinner. We stumbled upon it when we could not find the Tillet Gardens and so were less dressed that "Island Elegant" but we are so glad that we did. It set us back a little but was definitely worth the money.

Unfortunately, this is the most negative dining experience I have had. I made a reservation over a week in advance and when we showed up with the family (party of 7 for mother's day) they had no record of the reservation. I had the phone record, but nobody could help so we had to wait. Forty-five minutes after waiting, my husband and I went back to the hostess and she had forgotten about our party and we had to wait a bit more. By then, it had been an hour that we had arrived. It took over one hour and thirty minutes to get our food and our waitress was terribly uncommunicative. I finally got her attention and asked her to communicate with us and please get our four children something to eat since we had to wait so long. By the time our food came, my daughter was so hungry she was crying and my son was falling asleep on the table. I was unable to eat my food, the sausage skillet, because it was all overcooked and rubbery as well as the eggs. The children's pancakes were far undercooked and my daughter commented that my pancakes were way better. I have extensive experience running restaurants and have been through culinary school so I am aware of good food and service. Not one person came to check on us to attend to our negative experience after embarrassingly negative experience. Not one person apologized. And we paid full price with a tip. The only positive experience in this restaurant was Billy, a kind and smiling busboy who said happy Mother's day and had a few nice words in exchange. I have lived on this island for almost a decade and this was my first experience at Old Stone, one I am sure never to repeat. Happy Mother's Day.

My husband and I dined at Old Stone Farmhouse without our kids. The décor is beautiful, warm and cozy feel. The woman at the entrance was so wonderful, greeted us with a welcome and a great smile. Our server was equally as wonderful. As good as the service is, the food is the star of the restaurant. We purchased the bread basket - don't be cheap, mussels and a burrata salad special. I had the Oscar Filet and my wife ordered the pasta special. We shared a crème brulee for dessert. Unfortunately we diner at the Old Stone Farmhouse on our last night and were not able to go again.in - our lose.

Worst customer service we have received on the island, the steak was dry with no flavor. You could only eat it with a sauce to stomach it. So disappointed with this restaurant, do yourself a favor and find a better restraunt. Everyone in our party had an issue with the lackluster service and their meal. Not to mention we waited over 90 minutes before we were even served our meal.

Ambiance is great here and the wait staff is excellent as well. Food is good but overpriced by island standards and outdone by better chefs at places like Oceana, Sea La Vi, Twisted Cork. Could be great for sure but need some help in the quality of the entrees though. Not bad at all just not great. Worth a visit none the less.

We’ve been visiting St. Thomas for several years and this was our first trip to the Old Stone Farmhouse. We won’t leave it off the list of restaurants again! The setting was amazing, the service was top notch, and the food was absolutely delicious. On the night we visited their special was a 22oz ribeye with a Caribbean lobster tail for two. When it came out it looked amazing and tasted amazing as well. The chocolate mousse for dessert was over the top. If you are only in St Thomas for a week I’d recommend you make reservations before your trip. This restaurant is a must!
