Bluegrass Pizza and Pub is owned wholly by Colin and Melissa (Culton) Masters and opened on June 7th, 2010. We proudly bring you the only brick oven pizza made in Danville, Ky. We make our dough fresh daily, with only the freshest possible ingredients and whenever possible, locally sourced produce. We will be closed Saturday, May 3rd for the Kentucky Derby.

Undergoing painful changes

This used to be the place to be in Danville, Kentucky. The pizza was hot and tasty and service was great. We went on a Tuesday night this week, and the experience was pretty bad for the first half. There has been a personal change in the lives of the owners, and you can tell the place isn’t run like it used to be. Despite the fact the restaurant was NOT full, our party of four was kept waiting probably over an hour. We were told three times that the wait would be 15-20 minutes. The first time, the hostess forgot to write our names down. I asked the bartender for a drink, and she had no idea what it was, though it was on the menu, because she wasn’t actually the bartender, she was the owner. There was no bartender. Our server was great and very patient, especially since we arrived over an hour and a half before closing, but weren’t sat until about 20-30 minutes before closing (as a four top). He didn’t act upset at all, though the situation was out of both party’s control. The food was pretty good. The meatballs were well seasoned and cheesy. We ordered a couple appetizers, a Margherita pizza, and a Neapolitan pizza. The flavors were good and the crust was pretty good, though the tomatoes made it soggy after sitting too long. The drinks were purgatory. Beer here is still pretty good. Again, I applaud the staff. They are doing their best. But ownership has to get it together.

Hi, i'm sorry that you had trouble with getting alcohol. If my memory servers me right, you ordered a Kamikaze cocktail which is something that we do not serve. I was the substitute bartender for the time being since most of our staff goes to Centre and was graduating. You seemed to get visibly upset when I told you that we didn't offer that drink. Why didn't you show me where the drink was on the menu? If you did I would have made it for you but that drink isn't on the menu. I also noticed that you knew I was the owner even though I had never mentioned I was. I feel like this review is not a review of my restaurant but instead an attempt to lash out at me for telling you that you were wrong.

Great stop for lunch after a visit to Wilderness Trail!

We finished up our tour of Wilderness Trail right at lunch time and the folks there recommended this place for lunch. It was a great recommendation! The pizzas were packed with ingredients and very good. Salads and sandwiches also excellent. All the staff were friendly and the service fast and attentive. Great lunch spot downtown.

First visit was great. Server was very attentive and funny, as was all staff we interacted with. Food was really good, 2 pizzas and an appetizer. Second visit, not as good. One of us ordered a salad. Never order a salad in a pizza place. It was OK. I asked what the beers on tap were and was told "If you scan this QR Code on the table, it will tell you what beers we have on tap." My thought: If you want me to order one, walk over to the bar, read what you have, and come back and describe them to me, since that is like your job. Note: there were only a few beers on tap, not an extensive list, and the bar was about 10 feet away, and we were the only people in the entire restaurant. Not that he was trying to give bad service, just that someone thought that was acceptable. No, your staff needs to have tried every item and be able to describe them and give recommendations.

Terrible detvice

My husband and I love the food we were so happy to see it open after many times going to the restaurant and it was closed that day . Last night it was busy. Awesome we thought. We want this place to stay open. The hosts didn't have it together though. People who came in after us were seated before us and were given drinks and an appetizer right away. The host had us walk into the dining room but didn't know what table to seat is at. He had to ask someone where to seat is. We wait by a table while it was being cleaned. We were not given menus for 10 minutes. Our waitress kept us waiting. We were told they were out of straws. She became very rude. We walked oit before we got any food. The staff need to get it together.

$5 margaritas and craft beers got me in the door. Atmosphere is great and restaurant is clean. Should have stoped at the blood orange margarita. It was on point. First time here asked the waitress what she would recommend. Her response was I’ve never eaten here but it’s all good. Then she read me half the menu. So I ordered a sausage calzone, a house salad, blood orange margarita and a glass of water. The calzone came out in a timely fashion but was completely raw. So I sent it back. When she picked up my plate she dropped my fork in my margarita. (They did bring me a new drink. No new silverware) They fixed another calzone and took it off my bill for the hassle of my husband having to eat alone. Thankfully because this one was cooked less then the 1st. But it’s against my religion to send something back twice. I requested a to go cup (I was drinking my dinner tonight) and it came with my bill and my glass of water. The margarita was so good I will probably give it all other go.

Allergy free food!

Bluegrass Pizza and pub was so accommodating regarding my food allergy. They answered all my questions and were very attentive to my needs. I even brought my own cheese and they put it on the pizza for me. Homemade hand tossed crust was a plus. I highly recommend this place if you’re in Danville Kentucky.

Not as good as it used to be

This used to be a family favorite but with many staffing changes; it isn't worth the effort anymore. No issues with the food except it takes a very long time to get it. Service is lacking. Long wait to get drinks, then order, then food, then refills, then check. They have drastically cut hours too.

Awesome place to eat!! Love the atmosphere, the pizza is soooo good but the beer collection is even better! Definitely a spot to keep coming back....ohhhh, and or server was great, wish I remembered her name LOL
