There was nothing bad about our visit, but nothing memorable, either. The best part of the Bangers and Mash was the mashed potatoes; if the bangers are truly authentic, then I will need to scratch visiting Ireland from my bucket list.
My husband and I were visiting from out of town for a wedding. The bride and groom had their rehearsal dinner here so we stopped by after dinner (just for drinks). When we first walked in we were greeted and when we explained why we...were here they helpfully told us where to go (upstairs) and that drinks were being served up there as well. Once we got upstairs we were able to order drinks at the bar for the room. The space was perfect. It fit a lot of people. The bartenders were all very friendly and gave us suggestions on places to go locally. Based on the friendliness and how they handled the rehearsal dinner this is a great place!More
We were in the Covington area looking for a place to eat. We happened upon Molly Malone’s and thought we would grab a late lunch. My husband ordered the fish and chips. He is VERY particular about his fish and chips. Rarely, do restaurants meet...his requirements. Needless to say, I was shocked when he told me that this was the best F & C’s he had eaten in a very long time. I ordered a hamburger with Swiss and mushrooms. It was very good. Overall, this was a great lunch in a really cool Pub like environment.More
We arrived in Newport very late and this was one of the very few place open. Later night menu consist of just appetizers. The service was great and food was good. There was live entertainment, but was a bit loud.
Great Irish pub and restaurant. The drink selection was excellent. The food menu was fantastic. I had lamb chops. My wife had Sheppard's pie Portion were good and the quality of food was outstanding. They had a nice dessert selection as well. Parking was relatively...close but it had a fee. Great overall experience.More

Not sure if the festival is centered around Malone's, but Molly Malone's will not be the only place to hit. You'll want to catch the Hofbrauhaus in Newport. The atmosphere there is a little more contagious. For food, besides Malone's,try the Main Strasse Village area. Dee Felice(and the 2 restaurants next it), and Lisse. Lot's of good eats in Covington and nearby Newport..
