We last dined here 40 years ago (where did the time go?). Then we were young with a couple of kids and not much money, so it was a very special treat. We were finally back in the area and had to go, if for...nothing else than a trip down memory lane. It totally met our expectations! We had cocktails and a delicious meal. The shrimp and grits were so good, and my husband enjoyed the pulled pork mac and cheese. Our favorite from 40 years ago is still on the menu-spoon bread. You get a complementary piece with your meal. Just as delicious as we remembered. The dining room is beautiful. Tables are set with real linens. Service was impeccable. So glad that the standards at Boone Tavern remain as they were 40 years ago.More

Stayed two nights at the Hotel, had breakfast both mornings and dinner one night. Great interpretations on southern classics. Fried green tomato stack was the highlight as far as appetizers. Will definitely return.

Highly recommend the Boone Tavern Restaurant. The food, service, price, and portions were top of the line. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner there each day of our stay. Pulled pork and mac and cheese was my favorite dinner choice. Seasoned beautifully.

Sightseeing in Berea, I stumbled into this property. It is a part of the historic Boone Tavern hotel and is operated by the college. The restaurant is white table cloth, but offers simple fare such as burgers and salads in addition to more upscale offerings....Highly recommended.More

All of the amenities were so nice. One of the plugs in the room may not work and your shower pipes may knock, but who cares. The quaint hotel is a must stop for the experience. The staff seems very happy to serve. Even during...the pandemic. Masks are needed still. Great sitting areas to rest in lobby.More

Good food but not so great service and experience. The highly touted “spoon bread” was not available at 7:30, even though they opened at 5:00. The explanation was “it takes 45 minutes to make”. Not sure when they close, probably at 9:00. No tables were...bussed the entire meal. By the time we left, there were 10-12 tables piled with plates and napkins. I’m sure some of it is Covid related but the self-positioning of the restaurant and the actual experience was not well aligned tonight.More

We were staying at the Inn so decided to eat in the restaurant for dinner. I’ll start by saying we haven’t eaten in a restaurant since last March so we’re a little nervous but the Inn and restaurant were both very COVID compliant. Everyone wore...masks properly over nose! Hand sanitizer stations at entrance. Waitress wore mask properly and gloves when serving us. Service was spot on! Our dinners were very good. My husband had the fried chicken dinner which he enjoyed and I had the salmon with a maple syrup bourbon glaze served on a bed of roasted butternut squash, Brussel sprouts and crispy curly kale which also soaked up the glaze. It was delicious! We had an appetizer of the deep fried deviled eggs with goat cheese which were also delicious! Definitely would return!More

Truly socially distanced and felt our little romantic meal was private enough. The spoon bread is widely recommended but not our cup of tea. However, the rest of our meal exceeded our expectations. Sweet hubby had filet and I had salmon. Both were cooked just...perfect. Service was on point and prices were fair.More

I was staying in Berea, Kentucky for work and one father days I finished early enough to try the Boone Tavern Restaurant. I had seen the signs about the historic place andI was encourage to visit. I waited about 10 minutes to for someone to...seat me and the couple in groin of me at the host stand. There were plenty of tables open despite there looking like there were fewer tables than usual that were spaced out. Once seated the water came quickly along with a beer. I overheard the waited saying due to COIVD they've been working with skeleton crew because normally students at Berea College would work there. I ordered the $10 Brussels sprouts appetizer with bacon, dried pineapple and. sorghum mustard. They were OK. I'd prefer more a salty bacon flavor and I like the sprouts to be firmer. In hindsight I wish I would have tried the deep fried deviled eggs. I went for a veggie dish instead. I was encourage to order the Boone Tavern Hot Brown, their take on popular Kentucky open-faced sandwich with roasted turkey, ham, bacon on sourdough bread slathered in a cheese sauce. It was rich and satisfying. I'm frightened to know much fat and calories were it. It was $18. I'd like to try the place again during normal times.More

Ate here for breakfast and was told it would be a 15 min wait and it was a 45 min wait. Staff wasn't very good, but they tried. Food was okay, but not for what we paid for it. Will not eat here again. They...seemed short staffed. They need more help.More
