I was hesitant about going after reading some of the more recent reviews but decided why not?! I'm in the area and looks like an interesting place. I can't speak for others but my experience was good. I walked in, looked around, ordered food from...the deli, and had a wonderful conversation with the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. My only disappointment was I expected a bit more homemade items. There were a lot of prepackaged, mass-produced items for sale. That took away from what I expected to be mostly handcrafted woodwork and seamstress type items that I was hoping to find. The prices are reasonable and everything I bought to consume was good. Will likely visit again but it wasn't the completely unique experience I had hoped. I highlight was the peach spice cake. So yummy!More

Girl trip, we stopped in and the Staff were the rudest I have ever seen. A man behind the meat counter bit my friends head off when she pulled her mask down just a tiny bit because he couldn't hear her. She was a good...6feet away from him, plus the meat case between them, not even face level. He screamed at her to put her mask back on. She almost cried. We were very cautious because of Covid, but he was totally out of line.More

Judy Donovan whom owns the store wanted to bring love and the taste of home to the community. However, On April 27th, 2021, at approximately 3:40 PM, I witnessed a whole other side to the shop. A customer came in to shop, and the employee...immediately told the woman she had to wear a mask. The customer informed the employee that she had a health condition that prevented her from wearing a mask. As you may know there are some lung conditions that prevent people from wearing masks because a mask can be deadly to those people. The employee said the woman could not shop there without a mask. The employee was nasty about it and wouldn’t even stop stocking to speak with the woman. The woman informed the employee that wearing the mask is not a law, and she doesn’t have to with a medical condition. The employee rudely told the woman she couldn’t shop there. Now, I have done business with the Amish for many years, and the Amish do not follow the so called mask rule, and the Amish would never treat a customer like a criminal. I am curious to know how the Amish would view this situation, and I think Mrs. Donovan needs to to take the Amish name off of her business. Contempt toward a customer over a mask does not represent the views of the Amish. I was disgusted by this employees behavior and will not shop at this store ever again. If I want to shop at a true Amish store, I will drive a little out of my way to receive the kind care and assistance from real Amish folks.More

Ms Donovan was a beloved employee here at the Old town Amish store who decided to retire rather than possibly bring the virus home to her family. Here at our store we stay in accordance with state mandates and guide lines to keep our store...More

We have stopped here every time we go thru the area (at least once a year). Have always enjoyed our stop and have purchased many things from the general store and have also in the past enjoyed lunch in the deli. However, today we stopped...and I was the ONLY ONE inside the store (other than employees who were back behind a counter goofing off). As I quickly walked thru the aisles and I was approaching the check out I was approached by a young man with a mask IN HIS HAND asking me to put it on as I could not be inside the store without a mask on. I explained I had a medical condition and he did not care. He wanted me to wear the mask he had in his hand (already contaminated!) NO THANKS. He told me I had to leave. I left and I won't be back. It is not going to affect his paycheck he can go back to goofing off in the back with his coworker but the owner is the one losing the business! Talk about discrimination! Teach that young man some manners and how to appropriately talk to a customer and not to handle a mask that he expects someone to wear! I don't think we will ever stop at this exit again. Very sad.More

We had such a terrible experience. My husband and I always stop here and have lunch on our way home the food is usually good but not today. First the young gentleman working there yelled at my husband because he didn’t like the way my...husband mask fit, the pinto soup had no favor and my bread was so hard I even checked it for mold because it smelled. Won’t recommend this place no more. I should’ve asked for my money back.More

that this store sells some of the best popcorn I have ever had. Now, it is kernel popcorn, the kind you put in a pot with oil, heat up till it all (mostly all) is popped and then sit back with a good movie, a...special someone, a glass of wine and enjoy. I particularly recommend the Baby White Popcorn. This more petit size popcorn is tender & just right for munching. They do have other choices for popcorn, just can't remember them right now. But, dust off that old fashioned popcorn maker, put it to use and enjoy some really good popcorn from the Old Town Amish Store.More

They had a decent amount of dry goods for sale. We didn't eat anything here. Prices pretty decent in the store.

I ordered a sandwich from the deli. The lady was rude and the sandwich was bad. The sandwich was soggy and bland. Worse than the food was the extremely sarcastic lady working in the deli. She made it clear she was not happy to add...mayo to my sandwich. I would not go back to this restaurant. Panera is better than this non Amish sorry excuse for a sandwich shop.More

I have never experienced worse customer service. The food was mediocre at best. This store is Amish in name only. The staff was incredibly rude and unfriendly. I would never return to this store. If you want gas station sandwiches and a hostile environment this...is the place for you!More
