My husband was driving through Bardstown due to an accident on I65. When he arrived home he said we have to visit this place. So this weekend we did just that. We had cocktails on Friday night and went back for lunch on Saturday. Both were exciting adventures. The music/conversation was a little to loud in the Bourbon Bar, but... More

I think we waited to get a table and then our food for an hour and a half. Yikes! We had a 3 year old and three seniors and some in between everyone loved their food. Try the hot browns...they are amazing! The building was erected in 1779 and many famous people including Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, the King of... More

One of our favorite restaurants in Bardstown. This is a very historic building and eating inside gives you a feeling of going back in time. The food is outstanding and the service is special. There are also rooms upstairs where you can stay for a night or longer. We had to order the Kentucky Hot Brown for our lunch. It... More

Old Talbott Tavern is a multi-purpose beautiful 1700's era tavern said to be the old stagecoach inn in the US as well as having hosted a King of France (Louis for whom Louisville is named), the Jess James gang and other historic notables over the years. The building is beautiful and amazingly survived a horrific fire that destroyed much of... More

Walked though the historical rooms in the afternoon and came back for dinner. The food was good. Had salad and country fried steak. Waitress was preoccupied and seemed to tell anyone that would listen how bad her day was. Green beans were every good.

We had lunch across the street and learned this is a really old tavern with one of the oldest and very good bourbon bar. We just stopped in to see it. The two young ladies at the desk were delightful, engaging and shared a lot of information. They have six rooms for let all in the price range of $70-120... More

We stopped in to visit the bar after a day of visiting three of the area distilleries. The bar is excellent and the service was knowledgeable and professional. We then decided to stay for dinner and these people take excellent to a very high level! I had the pot roast and my wife had the county fried steak. Both outstanding... More

We went with 10 family members. I had heard of the place before and was told to check it out. Great experience! Our server was incredible and very knowledgeable about the history of the building. She gave exceptional service and was also very personable. We will definitely return!
