We stayed at the hotel next door. The restaurant was recommended by a local winery. The food was good. The food is served buffet style. Nice variety to chose from. It cost $28 for 2. Adults with drink. We did eat here both mornings of...our trip as we thought it was priced right for the amount of food you could eat.More

I was expecting one thing from this restaurant and got something totally different! I was extremely excited to try this restaurant out. Boy was we disappointed. The food seemed like it came from a Banquet Meal from Kroger’s and put on a plate! It was...absolutely disgusting! And to top it off I ordered a meat and they ran out of that and never gave me anything in its place so all I ate was sides. But that’s okay. That’s all I needs to eat since it was so bad. My husband’s was worse. His Steaks was definitely from a Banquet meal! So let me warn anyone who is thinking about going there! Don’t waste your time or your money! Go to a restaurant that values their customers! They do not on many levels!!!! If I could give them 0 stars I would!More

This small restaurant was full, so we were excited about eating there. The desserts were really tasty and that keep my rating 3 out of 5. The salad portion was not anything to write home about. I enjoyed the white bean soup. The salisbury steak...tasted like Stouffers frozen. The veggies had little taste. There was nothing to make it stand apart from a Golden Corral. The dessert should have had derby pie or something to say, "This is Kentucky". But they didn't. Bardstown is the bourbon capital of the world but they did not take advantage of that either. Stephen Foster? Anything named after or especially made to connect this American musician to the restaurant named after him? No. These are missed opportunities to set yourself apart from the rest.More

So as a kid I loved this place. Food was always seasoned and good. Today I ordered door dash and ordered salmon croquettes, mashed potatoes and corn. The salmon was at best ok. The potatoes tasted like instant potatoes and the corn well just corn.....No salt, no pepper no taste just prison food.. So glad I had credits on my account, because if I had to $15 plus for this I'd be pissed off.More

Nothing fancy. But straight up home cooking, and they usually do a great job of it. Right about $10 a head, including drink and desserts. Even during covid, they figured out a way to safely run the buffet. Today, they had meatloaf, great fried fish,...bbq chicken, among so many other offerings. Hot peach cobbler. It is almost a guilty pleasure. But I keep returning.More

You get a plastic glove to use to serve yourself, still Buffett style. Young lady disinfecting tables between customers is friendly. Senior discount, good food, salad bar and dessert choices. We had fried chicken, green beans, taters and salad. Husband had cherry cobbler and I...had pecan pie. Just barely over $20 for both of us including drink and dessert. Highly recommendMore

This is buffet style and very well priced. Your drink and dessert are included in the price. The fried chicken was really delicious. I thought the fish and ham were also good. There were various sides that included mashed potatoes, green beans, mac n cheese...and rolls. This is definitely a great place to visit.More

Buffet style restaurant with really good food. Drink and desert included. We were there Saturday at lunch and they had some brunch items on the steam table. Everything I tasted was good.

This local restaurant is the type we look for when driving out-of-state, something unique to each area. The lunchtime buffet including dessert and drink cost less than $20 for two seniors. The fried fish was our favorite. Simple decor, serve yourself.

Decent buffet. We were greeted and paid our meal charge. That was the one and only time anyone spoke to us. We had a pile of uncleared plates on our table that no one collected as we ate, there were 3 or so “waitress” type...women clearing others around us but no one approached us nor spoke a word. Maybe because we were not locals but it is clearly a tourist area so we were surprised at the lack of service. Food was all non-labelled so you had to assume what each thing was. Sometimes easily done other times not so much.More

We found info about this restaurant in the web. Even though we are in Bardstown at least once a month...did not know about this place. It is in the opposite direction of all the”hot spit” restaurants! By far, we had one of the best buffet...lunches ever!!!!More

It is a 45 minute drive for me but well worth it. The food is great and plentiful, drinks and deserts are included in price. It is buffet so if you leave hungry it is your fault. There is a short wait around lunch time.

Stephen Foster Restaurant is open 7 days a week, 7 AM to 8 PM. Their hours may change a little bit during peak vs. off tourist seasons so you'd be best to check directly with the restaurant's web site. Enjoy

We were there on a Monday night and we think there was a seniors discount. Dinner for two - including one senior, one adult was a total of $23.20USD. Just checked the receipt!
