A bit hard to find, located in basement of historic building in central Bardstown. We ordered the large pork chop and split it. The portion is almost like a pork roast, plenty for two and sides were also well prepared. Barrel cellar like décor, cozy with excellent service. Good wine/bourbon list, as expected. Highly recommended if in the Bardstown area.

Waitress was wonderful. Best steak ever. I wondered why there was not a steak knife. You didn't need one. It was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife. We will go back on our next visit to Bardstown.

We went to dinner on Friday night. The wife had chicken cordon bleu and thought it was very good. I had a steak, baked potato and brussel sprouts. The potato and spouts were very good. The steak was tough. When I asked the waiter for steak knife he seemed offended; knife not provided with the steak. When I told the... More

After spending the day at bourbon distilleries we met up with old friends. The restaurant has a romantic feel. The hostess was helpful as we did not have reservations. My husband was delighted with the abundance of bourbon selections. I ordered the pasta with steak. It was very flavorful. I could not finish it all. Everyone else ordered steak and... More

Interesting place. Restaurant in basement of a museum/classrooom/office, built before Civil War. Restaurant is in location of a morgue during the war! Food excellent and generous. Would return here!

Everything about this dining experience was wonderful! Our server was fabulous. All 5 of us thought the food was fabulous. The location under the stairs of Spalding Hall was fabulous! As I have posted on other reviews of Bardstown, we were celebrating a family member's 90th birthday, so having everything go just right was especially important. This place simply couldn't... More

VERY Average.... not much more to say than Average! Atmosphere to the left of the entrance was quaint ant cozy, warm and welcoming... atmosphere to the right, not so much. I suppose food on both sides would have still be average.

The restaurant is located in a lovely brick building that once housed bourbon casks. There are still casks to be seen. The food was fantastic. I had the roasted chicken crepes, which were perfectly prepared - just the right amount of herbs in crepes that are slightly toasted covered in an amazing sauce. The entree came with potato pancakes, which... More

Four of us spent an evening at the Rickhouse--first in the bar as we waited for our table and then in the restaurant. We arrived very early for our dinner reservation and was happy be served some excellent bourbon by spirited bartenders. The Kentucky Mule was memorable. The dinner that followed can only be called average, though. The house salad... More

This restaurant is difficult to find in the evening as the signs are hard to see at night. The location is actually the basement of the Bourbon Museum, but if you didn't know already you have to ask people either coming or going how to find it. I happen to like the idea of the place- downstairs in an old... More
