One of my favorite activities in Bardstown. Kentucky hospitality at its best. Worth the money. I will never make another Julep without using the recipe Rosemary showed and gave us. I will be spanking my mint from now on.

Bourbon Mixology Just finished a 3 hour class with Colonel Michael. 6 cocktails and 2 sipping bourbons. Half-time was a wonderful lunch of chicken salad, potato salad, watermelon and an eclair with bourbon whipped cream prepared my Margaret Sue. Southern Hospitality and conversation as if we were family.

Colonel Michael Edward Masters and his lovely bride, Margaret Sue, know how to make guests feel welcome. When I called to make the reservation for our Bourbon University experience, Margaret Sue was most accommodating. The Colonel educated my husband and me not only about bourbon but also about Kentucky history and his own story. When sampling a full range of... More

This was our first time staying here. The Colonel & Margaret were gracious hosts & showed us great southern hospitality. We felt like part of the family. Great rooms with very spacious private living spaces. Historic home in the heart of Bardstown. Within walking distance of restaurants & bars. We will definitely be staying here on our next visit!

The colonel, his wife, and Rosemary are the perfect examples of Southern Hospitality. After taking the Bourbon University class last November we decided we wanted to have our wedding here. We also loved Rosemary so much we wanted to take her mixology class. Learned so much and the class comes with an amazing lunch. Had the best time ever and... More

Marcella & John, it was an honor to perform your wedding ceremony and have you stay with us this weekend. You two are a very special couple and we consider you from here on out, not guests but part of the Chapeze House Family. Best of Luck always, Colonel & Margaret Sue. More

My husband and I just got married today at The Chapeze House and it was the most beautiful day. Margaret Sue worked to make sure everything was perfect! From the flower arrangements to the cake to the suite I stayed in the night before the ceremony, everything was stunning. It truly made a perfect day for us so memorable. I... More

We came for "bourbon classes" as a Christmas gift. I was dubious (I mean, what could you possibly learn about bourbon in a multiple hour class?). I'd have to say, the doubt melted away once I met Colonel Masters and his fantastic bartender, Rosemary. I learned quite a bit and had a great time doing it! Colonel Masters is a... More

For Christmas, I decided to give my brothers and husband an "experience". Bourbon University was a great choice since all of them consider themselves bourbon connoisseurs. Colonel Michael was a wonderful host and great storyteller. Rosemary was an excellent bartender and very attentive to the gentlemen. Margaret served us a superb lunch that reminded us of one our grandfather would... More

Go by and see the Colonial. We were looking for the unique in our tour of Bardstown and happened to find this hidden jewel. The Colonial and his wife were cordial and their home/BnB was lovely. He also makes one heck of a Mint Julip. Take the time to go by and STOP . . . sit and talk. History... More
