Great service, large selection on menu. But They might be out of your favorite. When I was there they were out of Boudin balls and dirty rice and alligator. I don’t hold that against them due to all the shortages everywhere. The étouffée was great,...the gumbo was lacking and had a burnt finish. Red beans and rice were OK. Jambalaya was a little dry it’s a little different than I’m used to having. But overall not a bad place so far from the south.More

The waitress was curt and ruined our looking forward to a meal as delicious as it was on our last visit, which, was our first time to patronize this highly recommended restaurant. On our last visit, the waitress was so nice and accommodating and this...little gal was the total opposite. Our food on our last visit was delicious and we were thrilled to find our restaurant to satisfy our hankering for fried fish. On this visit, the fish has NO seasoning and Boss Lady reluctantly brought the cajun seasoning out to shake over our fish and said that next time we come, they charge extra for seasoning. We were very disappointed with this experience. I hope the management teaches her what customer service is.More

We both had the red beans and sausage and it was very good. The portions are enormous so bring a voracious appetite or you'll be taking some home. Service was fast and friendly and the prices were very respectable.

A taste of Louisiana in Wichita. Alligator bites, fried catfish, gumbo, meatloaf and so much more. If you time it right you can get an order of Grandma's Bread Pudding to share with the table, it's that huge, ask for extra sauce.

The food was good. I didnt care for the type of breading they battered the pork chop in but was ok when i took it off. The fish was amazing but the tartar sauce had to have been Kraft. Its definitely not made by them....Tartar is easy to make and if you did it would make all the difference. I will bring my own sauce next time.More

I had the gator bites and crawfish etouffee. Both were fantastic! I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu in the future.

I love their fried gator, dirty rice and cajun seasoned french fries. The service can be spotty, but generally is fine. I have eaten here several times and always had great food.

It was the first time for most of us but the birthday man liked friend gator and we found they had it there. There was 18 of us and every single one of us, loved our food! EVEN the kids!!! Very large portions, I thought....I do not care for Cajun spices, so I got my cat fish tenders without it. Their prices are very reasonable. Oh my, I now LOVE this place! I'll be back!More

This place is not for high class dining, but if you want to stuff your face with authentic Cajun food, then look no further. I love the fried catfish, and that dipping sauce is crazy good! Have always enjoyed this place, as it is clean,...comfy, and the staff is very friendly.More

Da Cajun Shak is a family run place near 21st and Woodlawn. The food is very good IMO, but I have limited experience in cajun food. The catfish is very good but the service is just not friendly or attentive. They do have gator, and...they have gumbo but it's seasonal. I like the chicken Lafayette, the catfish, and the crawfish etoufee (however you spell it).More

Food is good. Authentic creole food. Restaurant is clean, but certainly not a great dine in atmosphere.

First time here. Cute little place. Clean. Friendly staff. Food came out quickly and orders were correct. Catfiah was very good and light. .. i usually find catfish fishy and bony. Not the catfish here! Vwry food. Love the mayo mustard sauce for the fries....The lafayette chicken was so, so spicy that I could not finish it all. ... but, i am a wimp with spice. Great little place. .. affordable, too. Tip: this place is a bit smaller and can get busy at the lunch or dinner rush...More

Da Cajun Shack is true Bayou Arcadian Cuisine. The dishes are about as authentic as a true cajun chef could make. The catfish is excellent and the Jumbalaya is out of this world. A must go to place.

Gator bites had more bread than meat and was not seasoned well. Gumbo was not good. Red beans and rice were pretty good.

We stopped by last Friday night and was glad we did.The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were out of the cajun meatloaf so we got the catfish dinner. It was made to perfection and a nice size portion. We were too full for...dessert so we got the peach cobbler to go. The dessert servings were so big we had to eat it over the next two days. If you have never been there you must give it a try. Their jambalaya, gumbo and ettoufe dishes are very good as well.More
