There is an illness in the family, that's why they are closed right now. This family puts their heart and soul into this place, and they serve the best ribs in KC. My favorite road trip, period.

My wife and i have been going to this place for years now. Its only seasonal so we usually go every weekend when its open. The food is great and so is the customer service. I love mom and pop shops like these that value every customer.

We decided to venture out and try Hillsdale a Bank Bar-B-Q. After a 30 minute car ride we pull in and much to our surprise it is closed for the season. We had checked their website before leaving home and there was no mention of them being closed. I am rating them one star and it would be 0 if... More

We were in Kansas visiting family and my brother in law said we have to go rob a bank?- well what a relief to know it was a bbq joint in an old bank ! What delicious burnt ends we had and the best root beer I've ever had ! The history of the place was quite fascinating too!

The folks were friendly inside and the interior decorating was interesting. Some of the old artifacts and ledgers are neat to check out. There was part of the ceiling that seemed to be falling down, but we don't know if it was intentional or not so it was fun to discuss. The fries (sweet potato and regular) were great. The... More

I have lived in paola for 8 years and had never been to the Hillsdale bbq. We finally went one Saturday afternoon and I will say that the food was pretty good for kc bbq. When walking in you don't think everyone is going to fit, but its pretty roomy inside. There is a railroad car attached to it as... More

Loved the setting and the food is excellent. Check for hours of operation as it's "Family Owned/Operated" and their achedule varies, depending on the time of year.

Located in the old bank in Hillsdale Kansas. It also has a old train car attached that you can sit in. The food is good but the portions are pretty small for the price. The hand breaded mushrooms are worth the trip alone.

This Bar-B-Q in in the old bank building and has a railroad car attached to it for seating. Its a very small place but worth going for the food. It's kind of hidden but worth a trip to see the place. They are not open all the time so checkout if they are open before going.

Hillsdale Bank Bar-B-Q located in Hillsdale Kansas (population 229) and is about 25 south of Overland Park. Although they are only open F-S-S, the BBQ and the service is excellent...offered in an old, turn of the century bank building. Great place to take the family or carryout...it is unique and I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised. Hillsdale Bar-B-Q's sauce... More
