Call ahead for reservations. The inside dining area is small about 9 tables. The decor is beautiful with cloth dinning napkins and tables. Staff was super friendly. Full bar. Seating at bar for 2 pp. They do a ton of Togo orders. Outside seating has another 8 tables.

Good service, averge food

We had a group of 7. They seated us in the back room. Service was good. Some dishes were ok, some soso. The dumplings were ok. Phad Sea Eaw was good. Sea Mea was tasteless. Phad Thai was good. Moon Duck Flower was ok.

Wonderful selection of appetizers.

Wonderful selection of appetizers. Picked Satay, dumplings, and trio. Everything tasted fantastic. The Thai coffee was out of this world and the Thai Tea was on point. Also very accommodating with little ones. Great service!

Carry out is expensive

We love this place. we have been eating here a lot and do carry out. I ordered 6 dishes for my friends. I tried online and there is a service fee of $1.25 per order. I called them and they said because they pay the website. So I decided to just call to order. After getting the bill they added $1.00 per dish above the price in the website. We just assume they are charging for the styrofoams. However, They should say be upfront of the cost in their website. People are getting cheated because they do not check their receipts. When you order a lot, they reduce their portions. You get more food if you have one order . I will never go back to this restaurant even if their food is good. They are cheats.

Great authentic meal at Thai Place

We had dinner at Thai Place during at recent visit to Overland Park. What a great find and excellent meal. The food and service were both top notch. No wonder the place was full even on a Wednesday night. We had the drunken noodles, massman curry and pineapple fried rice. All were outstanding.

Good service and food

We had a nice experience here. The tables were set with glassware, so I was concerned my little grandkids would break something, but the server came over (before any disaster) and asked if we would like "to go" cups with lids for the kiddos. That was very helpful! I thought the prices were a bit high. The food was flavorful and we're glad we came, but it wasn't't anything to "write home about." The food was above average and the service was good.

Pleasant surprise

Had not been here for quite a few years due to declining quality of both food and service. Was pleasantly surprised by both on this first trip back. We were seated almost immediately and our drinks were served inside of 5 minutes. We were tended to by a couple of wait staff and our orders were taken inside of 10 minutes. The hot and sour soup was a little watery but acceptable. The entrees arrived promptly and while the heat level was a little less than ordered , my pad see eaw was very tasty. The side of crab rangoon which was served with the entree were cute and tasty. Will have to return to revisit other dishes.

Authentic Thai Food

I Know...I Know; you want to know how I know it is authentic. Well, I have been to Thailand twice... LOVE it by the way. My first time was for a week and my second time I lived there for a while. I traveled all over Thailand eating food, of all kinds, in different areas. That does not make me an expert by any means, however, I do speak a little Thai and I hear a lot of conversations that are Thai from other customers. So I just assume they are there for the food.

Horrible for takeout!

I have eaten in this restaurant several times before and it was very good. Tonight I ordered takeout. The Seafood Full House dinner at 19.99 was the grossest oriental dish I have ever eaten!!! Their crab Rangoon was almost empty and tasted like it had been reheated. It looked like they figured they could get by with it since it was takeout instead of dining in. Their fried dumplings were tiny and tough. These tasted like they had been sitting out all day, very tough. I don’t know what is going on but if this is what they have become then I don’t want it. I no longer recommend this place.

So sorry, but disappointed

Thai Place was my go-to Thai restaurant forever, but today I was terribly disappointed. The menu has changed since the last visit, new owners? We ordered things expecting a blam in the taste. The flavors aren’t what the used to be. We won’t be back.

Food Made Me Sick in the Garage-like Restaurant

I love Thai but I could not recognize any of the dishes. I asked the server if the dish was hot and she said no. It was very hot. The decor is "early garage" and we did not feel comfortable with a garage door, cement under out feet. It was cold and uninviting. This is the restaurant on 89th and Wornal and I could not find it listed.

Don't Count on the Service

Not every Thai Place is the same. I've always enjoyed the Thai Place's food, and this Thai Place has good food, but the service, and this is the third time this has happened, is slow and uneven. We ordered our food, eight of us, and it took over twenty minutes for them to bring the drinks. Then another half hour to bring the food, and it came out one dish at a time. By the time my husband I had received our meal, the rest of our party had nearly finished. They also forgot to bring my husband's drink, half of the meal I ordered, and we were all disgruntled with the poor service. They took out an automatic gratuity, and it's good for them that they did because I would have under tipped on this one, and I think they knew that.

a pretty good Thai restaurant

This restaurant does a very good take out business and seemed very popular. I wasn't sure what to order so I asked someone picking up their order and they said they love the pad thai so I ordered it. While it was pretty good, I am not sure I'd say it was outstanding. Maybe they have better items on their menu- I would be willing to try other items and go to this restaurant again. The waitstaff was very friendly!

One of the better Thai restaurants!

I had reviewed this restaurant Saturday June 9th, until TripAdvisor lost my review (???). So, here goes again! My church best friend,Eric and I entered a very exquisite dining room experience. The ambiance was warming and comfortable. We had a wonderful Server named Annie who was very efficient. Eric had the Green Curry with Chicken, while I had the Panang Curry with Shrimp. The prices were a little steep but the extra charge really covered the ambiance of the place. We both agreed that the price would keep us from frequenting the TP very often. The food was most excellent. I feel that special occasions would be the order of the day. A very delicious experience, excellent ambiance, but ... pricey!
