Lunch rib special was awesome. Always get the sausage and turkey sandwich at Johnny's but was urged to grab some ribs. They didnt disappoint! Less than $10 for a few ribs and aome tasty fries, as well as a drink. Always a good spread at Johnny's!

Being from Canada, BBQ has a different meaning then when you are in the States, and whole different one when you are in Kansas City. This is my 4th Diner's Drive-in, & Dives road trip and second time in Kansas City. This time I went to Johnny's BBQ. Doesn't look like much on outside. Walk in and the first thing... More

Good place for Bar-B-Q. Large portions, tender ribs. Love the sauce. Service was fantastic. Definitely worth the trip! Will be visiting again very soon.

We drove in from Independence to try Johnny's and were glad we did. Service was average (waitress was not very helpful, made an expensive error, drinks ran out), but food was very good. The burnt ends were perfect: tender on the inside (in fact, the most tender I had ever had) and charred on the outside with a delicious smoky... More

I ate here for lunch getting carryout. At Johnny's you order at the counter and then take your food to your table. I got the burnt end sandwich with a side of beans and a drink for about $13, which I thought was a very good value. The burnt ends were very good, not quite as crispy as some, or... More

I had the 1/2 smoked chicken, and it was delicious. My husband had the ribs and pulled pork. Both were amazing. Great service too.

Friday ribs are awesome, daily specials rock. Pepsi place, so that's a downer for me. Has appeared on Diners Driveins and Dives several times. Johnnie is always there.

The waitress lost my husband's credit card. That has NEVER happened to us before. She kept insisting that she only walked ten feet between our table and the register. I noticed when the check came that the leather folder you put your card in had a ripped part so it probably fell out. Maybe if management would spring for new... More
