Green Tea Sushi Bar is a locally owned restaurant in the Aggieville district in Manhattan, Kansas. Even though it is an an area with bars, it is a family friendly restaurant. While the food is not overpriced, my teenage daughter and I visit at lunchtime, when the prices are a bit lower. She prefers cooked and I prefer raw, and every roll we have ordered has tasted good. Note: the strip mall housing this restaurant was purchased in early 2023, so after summer 2023, this restaurant will likely have moved. It is worth following to the future location. In summary, great people, great food.

Green tea sushi We did pickup takeout. We tried the miso soup, seaweed salad, lady Gaga roll, applejack roll and eel and avocado roll. They were quite tasty. Portions were large for sushi so we had leftovers. The simple eel and avocado roll highlighted the chef’s care with ingredients with the avocado creamy and the eel sauce used sparingly. The applejack roll from the chief’s specials was discombobulated in flavor and the fish pairings was odd. The lady Gaga roll had a nice filling. In the end we’d stick with the classics and avoid the novelty combinations.

The food is excellent and the staff are so congenial and appreciative every time I've eaten there. It's a family owned restaurant with great service and lovely atmosphere. It's the only Japanese restaurant I will go to.

I haven't eaten sushi for a long time because I thought there was only one place in town, and its sushi is, y'know, fine, but the cost is too high. Green Tea has a much more business lunch layout, with lots of seating and a bustling environment (and lots of parking out front, which is not to be taken for granted in Aggieville). The sushi and rolls are well prepared and fresh. There's not an enormous amount of personality in the food, but so what? It's straight-up good sushi in a good place and at a price that you can handle. The waiters don't really know much about Japanese food, but they're reliable and attentive. Oh--and the best crab rangoon I've had in Manhappiness.

We took our entire family out for sushi when dropping our daughter off for fall semester. We ordered a wide array of sushi and tempura. We were pleased with the quality of the food, we've had better sushi but for the middle of the heartland we thought it was good.

My wife and I ate at the Green Tea Sushi restaurant last night. Umi was packed so we drove over & tried Green Tea Sushi. The poor waitresses were over run and way behind. Took 45 minutes after we arrived to get our order. The food was truly terrible. It's disappointing to think that a restaurant can put out food like that and people in Manhattan would pay to eat it. The sushi was poorly rolled and loose and not very flavorful. The teriyaki coating on the food was heavy and saturated with grease. It took the rest of the night to get the grease taste out of our mouths. The seaweed salad was the only truly eatable dish we tried. I cannot figure how this place stays in business. This was our first adventure there and it will certainly be our last.

Only Sushi place to go to in Aggieville! Their lunch specials are amazing and very affordable! Eat here 1-2 times each time I am in town.

We ate here on the recommendation of our grandson, who goes to Kansas State University - all the guys in the dorm eat here about once a week! The service was great, but the food was outstanding! We ordered the Bento Boxes and it was more than we could eat! Very well prepared and extremely reasonable. We will absolutely come back here every time we visit this town!!

I actually hurt my tooth on the steak in my hibachi dinner. I'm not even kidding, it was that tough. Everything else was tasteless and soggy and just soooo not worth how much we paid. It was about $40 for 2 hibachi dinners and one order of crunchy shrimp sushi. What we got was worse than food that I've spent $10 on in a mall food court. I definitely won't be ordering fron here again.

Who knew? Sushi this good in Manhattan? I wish we had found this place sooner, but it is kind of hiding in plain site. The building is old, the booths a little tattered, but the food is wonderful. We have tried most of the sushi rolls. All are delicious and we love the ginger salad!! The prices are also good.

I went to Green Tree on the recommendation of co-workers and Trip Advisor reviews. I'm new to the area and have eaten Asian cuisine at Korean Gardens and Peking in Junction City. I ate sushi regularly in the previous state I lived in. So these experiences are what I compared Green Tea to. The restaurant was clean. We arrived around 5pm and there was only one other table of customers. The service was good. It was the taste and quality of the food that was disappointing. We ordered three different sushi rolls. They all tasted the same. They used spicy mayo and crispy Panko as toppings on all three, so there was no change in the flavor profile. My boyfriend doesn't care for crab or raw fish, so I tried to get a Cooked roll without crab. That was difficult. Most of their rolls contained the standard imitation crab. We also ordered the hibachi steak and hibachi shrimp. The steak was flavorless and chewy. The shrimp was tasty in its sweet sauce and had a bit of char on it. The fried rice served with both plates was standard a Chinese buffet variety, nothing special. The stir fried veggies were soggy and mostly onions. I felt I spent a lot of money on a very unsatisfying and disappointing meal.

Live or staying at a hotel nearby in Manhattan Kansas and have the craving for sushi order from green tea sushi bar. Hop online and order everything right from their website. It's super easy you can add items to your cart and pay directly to the website and it will show up to your door in 45 to 60 minutes. I ordered some yellowtail, Salmon, spicy tuna, spider roll, and some other specialty chef rolls. For being a landlocked state by Kansas this is pretty good sushi.

It's a hidden gem in a unassuming strip mall. The inside is friendly and quaint. The service and good is so good!
