The wait starts early and all people in your party must be present to be seated. So, recommend getting there by 0800 or expect a 45 minute wait. We ate breakfast here with some friends. We did have to wait about an hour to get in but they served us our coffee immediately, so that made it more bearable. All of our food was really delicious! I will go again if I'm in the area.

Nice Breakfast Burrito. Good coffee. Good potato salad. Solid classic menu. People here take care in doing their work.

The food was to die for and and the service was perfect. We had a 5 and 7 year old with us and barely had to wait. They loved the food too (pancakes and bacon) and didn't get bored at all. Highly, highly recommend!!

It's fine,it's okay, it's overpriced. Not sure why the line is always out the door, but it is always out the door on weekends.

I went to the Chef Cafe this morning with my young daughters and wife. Such a great experience. I had biscuits and gravy, fried eggs, hash browns and bacon. The girls had a pancake and bacon. My wife had the goat cheese, tomato frittata with pesto. All food was excellent. Such a great atmosphere. It felt as though this small... More

My husband and I are visiting the area and stopped at "The Chef" for breakfast. Timeless, Americana decor and atmosphere. Great menu choices. The food is presented beautifully and is very tasteful. My husband loved his Florentine Frittata with Smoked Salmon. He said it was one of the best breakfasts he has ever eaten. I had the vegetable omelet which... More

Lots of choices for diner food and large portions. Limited seating so there may be a longer wait time but it is worth the wait

I visited my sister in Manhattan last week. I went to the University of Kansas. I love Lawrence, always have. I know what restaurants I enjoy and look forward to spending time in my college town. My time in Manhattan has been infrequent and brief. Since my sister and niece live there I chose to check out some of its... More
