This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Manhattan. Soft flour tacos and a side of rice with the green sauce is my go to order.

Mole enchiladas were bland. Green sauce for chips similar to puree, cheap alternative. Best item were the fresh cooked chips.

Checked reviews and more recent were more positive- should have listened to earlier reviews! This food is terrible! Guacamole was some kind of foul tasting green stuff! Queso dip-canned!! Fried flour taco soggy and greasy with minimal filling and topped with grated processed cheese spread! You can drink many of the margaritas as I question if any alcohol!! Extremely disappointed... I love this place, and visit once a week. Whether it is "authentic" Mexican food, I don't know. But I don't care, in fact. Good, friendly service. I really like the shredded beef soft taco and cheese enchiladas. The guacamole and chips is also outstanding.

Had a great meal here with friends. The food was well prepared and well served. If visiting Manhattan recommend you give them a try.

This is an unpretentious family run restaurant, with excellent food. If you expect it to taste like other Mexican American restaurants, you may be disappointed, but if you are willing to try the unique taste of the Hillside food, you may be hooked for life. I recommend the Corn Soft Tacos and fresh chips. Soda is served in cans with... More

I've been going to the Hillside since before they moved to Manhattan. It's not for everyone, but for those of us who like it, we love it. This is not because Manhattanites don't know anything about Mexican food. I've eaten here with folks from Mexico and they loved it. Try a white flour taco with chicken or shredded beef. The... More

The Silva family has been serving some of the best Mexican family recipes since I was a kid growing up in Manhattan. This isn't the Taco Tico junk, but hand made real food. The shredded beef and chicken are tasty and the pan fried taco's are the best I've ever eaten. I don't miss a chance to go whenever I... More

When the Hillside was in Ogden, the food and service were great. Unfortunately, it is not nearly as good since it moved to Manhattan. The service is "ok", but the food is not. It is definitely sub-par for Mexican cuisine. It tastes like it has been refrigerated for a week and heated in a microwave. We will NOT be going... More

I just ate there and the food was pretty gross. I'm pretty sure they microwaved everything. The guacamole was disgusting, like a baby poop puree. The big burrito was just Unseasoned roast beef and beans with chili on top. 0/10 will never go here again. Waste of money and a meal.
