We wanted to grab some takeout passing through Lawrence. This place was easy to get to off the bypass so we tried it out. Delicious BBQ half chicken and a pound of pulled pork seemed like a lot more than we usually get at our...favorite joint in NC. Really good too. The sauces were tasty, but we should have also tried the spicy. No fake smoke flavoring, yaay! The coleslaw was the kind with red cabbage and poppy seeds….I liked it but my husband wasn’t a fan. All in all a nice supper for our take out on the go. We would go back.More

As I have mentioned before, I am a BBQ snob. I gave Biggs a try and was disappointed. I ordered the sampler so I could try various meats. The ribs were severely overcooked, had no flavor and very little smoke. The brisket reminded me of...Arby’s Roast Beef. No bark on the brisket either. The burnt ends were very dry and had a chuck roast consistency. The best meat was the smoked sausage. The Mac and cheese was very watery and did not seem to be smoked as advertised. The fries were good. The portions are huge.More

Our Granddaughter was going to school here at KU and we asked if she knew of any good BBQ and she knew right where to go. As the whole family was visiting we got the pulled pork, BBQ Ribs, beans and some BBQ and some...BBQ chicken too. Everything was good especially the Ribs and Beans, pulled pork was very good too but the Ribs were there best I have ever had!More

Good barbecue, great service. Small place in a strip mall. Had the burnt ends, and 90% were great, although a couple pieces were a bit dry. Overall, I will try it again.

Took my wife there for our day-before-anniversary dinner. It was absolutely fantastic. We ordered the queso fries and a half order of onion rings. The onion rings alone would have fed 4 people.. and it was a half-order! Best onion rings I've ever had, at...that. Fries were great as well. The kind that you can tell were actually potatoes recently, not some frozen mush shaped into a fry. They brought out a small complementary plate of fries, maybe 10 fries, as we were ordering just so we could try out the different bbq sauces. Nice touch. Our main course was the Dinner for 2, and we chose smoked ham, burnt ends, smoked mac & cheese, bbq beans, and garlic mashed potatoes. In addition to the 2 meats and 3 sides you choose, it also comes with 3 St. Louis style ribs, 3 baby back ribs, a chicken quarter, and jumbo jalapeno cornbread muffin. Such an immense amount of food! And everything was amazing. Well, I take that back, their homemade diet rootbeer was way too sweet for our taste, but aside from that everything was just brilliant across the board. I will say, though, that the burnt ends weren't what I expected. They tasted like they were cut out of a delicious pot roast, not your typical brisket flavor. Extremely good, just different from what I'm used to getting for burnt ends. Despite having too much food already, we had to try the bread pudding and cinnamon apples and both were magnificent. Highly recommend.More

Driving through KS and stopped here for dinner. Specifically wanted BBQ and was not disappointed. Tasty, big portions and reasonably priced. The fried pickle spears were perfectly done and we agreed the best we’d had, the French fries had a fantastic garlic/salt/pepper and something secret...seasoning, the St Louis ribs were huge and the chicken quarter had a wonderfully crispy skin and was so large it must have been a mutant chicken. The only knock was the burnt ends were somewhat dry, but since everything else was a 5 we agreed to overlook that. They must have stock in styrofoam since with 2 sides (we liked the baked beans and fried okra best) it was too much to finish. Our server, Trent, was very friendly and helpful and deserves a shout-out.More

Biggs has a great inside seating area, a few outside tables and a bar area. We stopped for lunch and ate inside. My wife's sliced chicken sandwich was very good. My Brisket sandwich was excellent - and large. It had lots, and lots of mouth...watering brisket. I had a side of sweet potato fries. It was also a good sized order with very good flavor. I would highly recommend eating here.More

Fun, sports bar atmosphere with an excellent selection of Barbeque styles and sauces. Stopped enroute from Tennessee to Utah and ordered a sampler platter to taste a little bit of everything. I thought Tennessee pulled-pork Barbeque couldn’t be beat, but I was wrong! Best pulled...pork I’ve ever had. The burnt ends and baby back ribs were also excellent. The St. Louis style ribs and smoked chicken were also very good. Go BIG and come to Biggs!More

It’s an Ok bbq place. There are limited places in Lawrence to go for BBQ. The food is alright. The BBQ was a little dry and the cheese on the sandwich is strange. The staff is friendly and the service is good though. Not sure...we will go back.More

The atmosphere is quite comfortable, staff was very friendly. I had the combo platter special of St. Louis style ribs and Baby Backs. The ribs had good flavor, but for me they were a little bit overcooked. I like ribs that I have to bite...off the bone, not ones that meat falls off when you try to cut through to separate the ribs. That aside, the dinner was still very good. The fries were good, the coleslaw a mustard based dressing and quite tasty. The assortment of sauces for the meats is nice, and each is very good. Overall a good experience, and a decent value.More

The food was excellent. Large portions and good quality. The owner stopped by and said hello, as well. Friendly guy. I am not from Lawrence, but appears to be a fun place to grab a meal, especially before a Kansas sporting event.
