I love this restaurant; everything is so fresh and delicious! There is a lot of variety to chose from. It was my colleague's first time here and she really liked the menu and her sandwich.

The main reason Kansas is the breadbasket not just for US but the world is due to Germans from Russia immigrants bring Turkey hard red wheat berries with them after being forced to flee 19th century Tsarist Russia. While so many of our wheat producers today use GMO & less nutrient dense grains, Wheatfieds has shifted the weather vane more... More

Wheatfields is one of the premier bakeries in Lawrence. There likely will be a line, but you can soak up the smells and plan your culinary delight. There are sandwiches on mouthwatering breads and my wife loves the biscuits and gravy. I go for the pastry wonders - something flaky and light with almonds. It's in the heart of the... More

There's a reason this bakery has had national press coverage. This wood-fired European bakery would do well anywhere, and Lawrence is blessed to have it. The turkey/cranberry and turkey/apple/swiss sandwiches are our favorite. We also love the chocolate flourless torte and citrus tarts. The supper menu is seasonal, and rotates. It's sometimes hit or miss, but the bread offerings are... More

This is quite possibly the best bakery ever. We've been coming here for years when we visit, and it's seriously worth coming to Lawrence JUST to come here. It's that good. All of the food is terrific, I've honestly never had anything I didn't love, but do yourself a favor and try their biscuits and gravy. They're like nothing you've... More

This is definitely, first and foremost, a bakery. My parents love the breads and when I'm home for the holidays, I can't resist a cinnamon roll. They're soft, flavorful, and big enough to share. We've also enjoyed their other bakery treats, and they make a great platter if you're hosting brunch.

Had heard this was great but was very disappointed. The bacon and eggs were so greasy we couldn't eat them. Our bagels were very salty. Coffee cups were toy sized. It was cheap but not good eats.

Hey, it's a college town! This is a great place to have a traditional well valued breakfast. It can be busy and seems very popular. I've always liked eating there. There are a few newer, more upscale breakfast choices in town. I rate this place as one of the local standards. Great selection of menu items. Try it.

Hard to rate this bakery after all of the great reviews, all deserved. Breakfast and lunch are outstanding. Evening dinner can be iffy given that their excellence is with the former. If you are wanting wood fired bread to equal that of great European bakeries you have come to the right place! Their chocolate chip, cherry scone is better than... More

Each time my wife and I go to Mass. St. in Lawrence, we have our lunch here. Fresh crusty bread, excellent soups, pies, etc. Sandwiches are made there and then and always burst with flavour and crunch of the freshness. If you want a 3 course meal, a restaurant is fine, but for a quick top class lunch/snack.... come here!
