My husband and I were en route to Colby, Kansas and wanted something tasty for lunch. We saw the amazing reviews for Thomas' Taste of Chicago and had to try it. Being originally from Chicago-it was fun to try real Chicago food. And real it...is! Absolutely delicious. I had the Italian Beef burger-incredible. The beef was so tender and full of flavor. The burger cooked perfectly. And Thomas gave us free hot dogs. Holy cow so good and the real deal. A nice place with jazz playing in the background. And the family that runs it? SO very friendly. A lot of fun to visit with-truly good people that do a lot for others. Please eat here-you will NOT be disappointed. We live 3 hours away and will be back!More

Thomas met us at the door. He explained the food. Everything had or could have gyro meat on it. I had the burger, Chicago style I think it was. Cole slaw was sweet and the rice was good. Reminded me of a home town deli....Taste was awesome and if I go back I am going to try the Polish sausage. It is worth a stop and say hey to thomas. It did taste like that of Chicago.More

Good afternoon lunch with great gyros. Good family atmosphere. Come 9ver from Manhattan for good Greek food.

Excellent friendly service. Good food. Great brownies. The cakes looked awesome, too. My friends enjoyed the gyros.

I had the gyro and my husband had the Italian beef burger and as usual everything was excellent. This place rocks and deserves a stop every time. This was my choice for my birthday lunch that's how much I love this place

Just passing through and saw their reviews, so we thought we would give them a try. LOVED the Chicago-style Gyro. Two of us had them and agreed. Delish! Apparently the burger was the bombdotcom as well:)

Passing through and looking for a place to eat and found Thomas's Taste of Chicago when the owner came outside and invited us to look at a menu. Glad we went inside and had lunch! Fantastic gyros with great tzatziki sauce (The sauce that comes...with it, for those of you who do not know what tzatziki is). Husband got chicago burger and devoured it with lots of "mmmmmm" noises. Lol. Very pleasantly surprised and satisfied with our delicious lunch! I would have attached a picture but we inhaled our food too quickly. LolMore

My husband and his men's group ate here a few weeks ago and he raved about it so he took me over today so I could try it. It was every bit as good as he said and then some. I had the Chicago Style...Hot Dog and loved it. 100% Vienna Beef Hotdog w/mustard, onion, relish, tomato, pickle, sport pepper and celery salt on a fresh poppy seed bun made me think I was in Chicago. Yum! My husband had the polish sausage and he loved that as well. We got the coleslaw and highly recommend spending the extra to get that. It was so creamy and good. They also have a delicious rice that you can upgrade for a side. Someone next to us ordered a hamburger and it looked so good. I may have to try that next time. Actually there are many choices on the menu. They let us sample the gyro and it was really tasty. This is a family run business and they are all just the nicest people. They made us feel right at home and very welcome. There is plenty of room to sit and eat and music playing that makes for a very relaxing meal. We can't wait to go back. It was well worth the drive over from Manhattan and easy to get to off I-70 if you are traveling across Kansas.More

Our first time in Junction City, and we were looking for something that wasn't a chain. Thomas' Taste of Chicago is a cute, clean restaurant in an old classic downtown building. But it is the food, that will draw you back. We had the gyros...and tacos. All was excellent. The lamb was so tender, nice blend of spice. Just excellent. Thomas is friendly and outgoing. We are drawn back to try the Chicago Dog, Hamburgers and I hear the coleslaw is to die for.More

Go north on Washington St - 1.5 mi to 7th St then left one store. Far better than the chains. The world's best Gyros. Also, try their Chicago Burger - hamburger plus seasoned gyro meat. Great food, high-quality ingredients - fast service. The place is...spotless. Small family run restaurant by a family from Chicago who cares about their customers. AMAZING! Only caution is they seem to close early for dinner - around 7 pm. Call first.More
