After visiting many restaurants trying to get a table for my husbands birthday we called in at The Dove at Dargate. Not a great choice on the menu but what we had was amazing the steak and mushroom pie was the best I have ever had the pastry on top was tasty and Moorish can't say the same for the... More

We've been going to the Dove, off and on, for years. The building is nice, the staff are fine, the location is great. Only flaw is that its a tied pub, so the beer is from Shepherd Neame. Which means that its watery, tasteless and bland. The Dove's always worth a visit -just avoid the beer.

This was my first visit and I will definitely go again. A cosy pub with character and a large, pleasant garden. We had lunch on a sunny weekday so enjoyed eating outside. The food was very nice - mackerel pate, sardines & new potatoes, and particularly the gnocchi with pesto, goats cheese & tomatoes. Friendly, efficient service.

Disappointed in the layout very barren also very hot in there. Not much choice on the menu I had sardines and I only ate one and was ill about one hour and a half after. They tasted greasy and slimy, and thats all I could taste all night. I did phone the landlady up the next day and she apologised.... More

Another pub nearby was unable to take more lunch orders so we had to find a pub that did food just off A299 that also welcomes dogs. Down a few country lanes we found the Dove. Garden looks nice but we ate inside. Archie settled down after getting a biscuit. We ordered from a set menu (Sunday). I had sea... More

A truly lovely Sunday afternoon. Sunny garden, nice roast (but nothing exceptional or above normal). Staff were really friendly and certainly made us feel wanted and welcome. A wider dessert menu would be great....

We like the Dove, although not managed to get there for a while. Went recently for lunch with some friends. We all ordered from the sandwich menu, which we've had before with no problems. It was very quiet there, on a hot sunny weekday - very few other customers there. Yet it took a whole hour for our sandwiches to... More

We ate here on a Monday night. We both decided on pizza and the waitress assured us they were big enough to share. It wasn't till we returned to our hotel and looked at the website that we saw that on Mondays pizzas are two for the price of one!!! Bit naughty we thought. Apart from that there was a... More

Can throughly recommend The Dove. We went there for my birthday and it was perfect. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly locals. The staff are attentive and faultless. Food is out of this world. I had beetroot gravalax for starter...delicious. My man had baked camembert with crackers...gorgeous! For mains I had sea bass which was the best I've ever had. He... More
