Went on a Friday night before a volleyball game. It was busy with a 30 minute wait so we opted to eat at the bar. The floor was sticky in many areas of the building like it didn’t get cleaned from the night before. Kind...of gross. I would think if in one area it may have just happened but we walked around and it was in several areas. As in previous reviews the “salad” is not a salad. It is shredded lettuce and that’s it. The only thing that helped is that the dressing was homemade otherwise who wants to eat such a plain salad? We had a chicken bacon ranch pizza which was okay. There were large chunks of onion on it that were not necessary. Onion, I like, but the pieces for this type of pizza shouldn’t be bigger than the chicken. The wait staff were younger and continued to gather to complain about customers. One big positive is the large selection of beers on tap. So I would recommend if just going for a beer. Also the wait staff were friendly enough to your face but liked to whisper when around each other.More

The Class of 1961 held our 60th Class reunion Friday night. September 10th at the East Bremer Diner. Our group of 25 held force upstairs. Fun, stories, fist-bumps, pictures and then excellent food. One class-mate covered the meals for all. What a great treat in...and of itself. The food was outstanding and the servers met the challenge with precision and a smile. What a great spot in Waverly, Iowa.More

We were disappointed with our family meal here tonight. It took forever to have our orders taken. Then a hot beef sandwich was served barely warm. Two of us had broasted chicken, and the drumsticks were raw in the middle. The waitress did replace my...granddaughter’s drumstick, but the replacement wasn’t much better, and she did bring her a free piece of cake. But I don’t think we’ll eat here again.More

Beings we have always been happy eating lunch there, we brought 6 people there for Breakfast last Sun. We were very disappointed in the food. Hash browns were overdone, biscuits could have been Hockey Puks, gravy was tasteless toast not buttered(and none brought to table),...Burittos were tasteless and dry and no cheese. . The sausage was greasy and overcooked. I asked for salsa and you didn't have any. Coffee had been on the warmer too long. At this time we will not recommend eating breakfast there. Waverly really needs a breakfast restaurant at this time. I hope you can make the improvements.More

Our daughter is a sophomore at Wartburg college in Waverly. During the volleyball season, we stay at the hotel across the street five or more times during the season, plus a couple of other times when we visit her. We have looked out our hotel...window several times the past couple of years at this restaurant but never bothered to visit thinking it was just a small-town cafe with a limited small town menu. Last night (Feb 27th) we decided to try it after reading some reviews. We took our daughter there for her belated birthday meal. We were very impressed. Our waitress was prompt. Our appetizers arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. We all brought half our meal or more home ( big size portions). They also had a nice beer menu. Our bill for the three of us would have been about $40 had I not had to try a couple of craft beers from their taps. We commented numerous times the rest of the night that we would definitely go back. About the only negative, I can come up with, is they do not have TVs if you are hoping to catch a game. It didn't bother me because there were no games on that I cared to watch. My wife thought this was a plus as the family had my undivided attention with no TV to watch.More

Was hoping for a good meal tonight since the wait was minimal. Disappointed tonight. Steak was much undercooked considering I order med-well. Steak was also cold. Server asked how it was and commented that it looked under-cooked. She said she'd take it off the bill....The bill arrived and I was charged for steak. Wasn't worth arguing about. Wife had salmon and sweet potato casserole, commented that they were lukewarm also. Really like the menu options and atmosphere at EBD, but tonight was such a disappointment. Service was slow.More
