Best “Chinese” food in DSM

Best “Chinese” food in DSM area. This location has recently remodeled, and has a brand new floor, new tables and chairs which were badly needed, and a fresh coat of paint. Everything looks great now. The food has always been hot and fresh. There are other locations around town, and they are just as good. This is the best Chinese food in all of Des Moines

Only place to get BEST Chinese food in Des Moines, IA.

Good I love this restaurant. I brought home chicken egg foo young, which was phenomenal. My daughter tasted mine and OMG she loved it hands-down. Daughter got garlic chicken which was delicious! My grandson got the Mongolian beef and asked because there’s not many choices for good Chinese in the town of Des Moines. He said this is way better than Hyvee‘s hands down!!! I am tempted to go back again today to get a lunch, but I just ate the rest of my hot and sour soup. It needed a little doctoring up. But it was good. This is an excellent restaurant only place in Des Moines to get great Chinese food! What I have to say about this restaurant is Drop the Mic! 🎤

Inexpensive, large portions and delicious. The owners are very friendly. The decor is nothing fancy. They do an amazing take out business during the lunch break.

First visit since they started allowing dine in.

The counter person hasn't gotten any nicer. She kicked the chairs to move them and slammed the door to the back room. Ruins the setting when staff is rude and angry. Used to go to lunch here multiple days a weeks. Former counter staff was very friendly and pleasant. Today she brought out my soup while I was getting water and set it on the closest table to the kitchen door. I was one of 2 people in the dining room. Not thinking I will return based on today's treatment. The food was okay but not a pleasant experience.

We enjoy stopping in this convenient Chinese restaurant. Always very fast service and fair prices. We have always been pleased with the food-and prefer it to many others in the area. This business supports the local area-many local high school athletic team posters posted at the counter. Been a favorite of ours for years.

Some of the best Chinese food in town

Our family likes the Sesame Chicken, General Tsao Chicken, the Vegetable Fried Rice, and the wonton soup. The steamed or fried potstickers are great. But some of specials include an egg roll and a crab rangoon which are both delicious as well as a cup of soup. Lunch and dinner specials differ so pay attention to what is included in each. Dinner portions are bigger than lunch portions, and lunch portions are big enough for two people. Prices reasonable, service good. Casual dining, order at the counter and they bring the food to your table.

Fast quick lunch

I love their Mongolian Beef. Not the best food, but not bad either. The egg rolls today were a little mushy, but that's not typical. The Mongolian beef has a great savory flavor. My son had the beef and broccoli. The service is very quick. You can get in and out super fast. You order at the counter. Our soup was at the table before we could even sit down.

The one in waukee is better

They seem to use different recipes at their different locations, the food doesn't even look the same. When I went here the food was in cubes and tasted bland. Wasn't horrible but definetly other places I would rather go to. Seems busy so other people must like it.

Best chinese fast food place for lunch

When I'm in the area this is my goto place to get my chinese food fix. During lunch they offer 2 or 3 specials apart from their regular menu. I always order the the empress shrimp. It comes with 1 spring roll and 1 crab rangoon and soap. I usually just get 2 spring rolls. My son also loves this place when we are in town for the weekend. My wife thinks it's just okay but good. The owner is funny and tries to please everyone. Service is usually fast and friendly.

Adequate food not great but not bad

We get carry out at least once a month. It is the better choice in the Waukee/Urbandale area. Good value as price is inexpensive so we don't get too picky in the taste. Never had s bad meal.

Fair chinese

Normal Chinese lunch. 6.00. Crab Rangoon were hard and fair not good or great but ok for lunch. Girl taking orders was rude and abrupt. Just asked a question about what came with the lunch and she was rude like it was a big bother that I was going to buy food from there. The Orange chicken was pretty good. If I was in the area and needed a quick lunch I would go again.

Tried this strip mall Chinese place and wish I hadn't. Crabby service and bland food and within and hour it went right through my wife and I. It's cheap and it was hot when served. That's the only positives. We eat Chinese 2-3 times a week and this will never be on our list of places to go.

Best Chinese food in town

Food is typically priced from $5-$10, but the food is so fresh and hot and never dry. The Kung pao chicken is excellent. Waukee location is better, but this place never disappoints.
