Bar Food at its Best!

Murphy's is just awesome...we've heard that it's closing so we can hope that maybe someone else will keep it open. The food at Murphy's is so good. Why don't some of the fine-dining places make food that good? We were a very large group and the servers did a superb job of taking care of us. I ordered the Reuben, $9, one of the best I've ever had. There are good reubens and there are bad reubens. Murphy's is amazing, thick corned beef, the real thing, grilled rye, and so big I took half home. My hubs had their Breaded Pork Tenderloin, $10, and pronounced it great. We both had onion rings, delicious and perfect, not greasy at all. Keep in mind that it is a bar, but excellent food is the key there.

A great local place near the star trek museum

What a place! I had the patty melt, and he had the murphy burger. Outstanding! Happy hour $2,50 beers. Can't beat the food and service. Eat local.

Best pork tenderloin I’ve ever had! Clean environment. Friendly staff (even though we had Ohio State garb on 🤣). Hubby said his burger was good too.

It's too bad you didn't check this place out sooner. A nice small town restaurant with wonderful owners. Great local dining until it closed in July 2021.

Small town at it's finest

The food was fresh - I had the BLT(awesome tomatoes), my son had the paddy melt, and my husband had the pizza burger. Fries and coleslaw looked to be homemade and not from a bag! Our female server was a sweetie!!

Murphy's is a local favorite of ours.

We like their onion rings, grilled tenderloins, and sweet potato fries. Their grilled Iowa chops are always perfect. I would also recommend the reubens with plenty of corned beef on toasted marble rye. Staff is always friendly and the price is reasonable.

Must eat there!

Stood in the spot where Captain James T. Kirk will be conceived. Didn't have a cigarette after but I did have a mighty good lunch there. The staff was very friendly as were the people inside.

Decent Food, slow waitress

Stopped in about 530p, not super busy but busy. Drinks came quickly, however took her a very long time to come back and take our order. I had sirloin and it was good, but have had better, wife had the lasagna which was also good. Place is kind of cashy too we thought but to each his own.

Delicious smoked pork chops

Great mashed potatoes!

Stopped for the kirk hype, stayed for the good beer and food! Our waitress was endlessly patient, and the burgers were dynomite! It was cool to taste the local beer, and take pictures near the plaque where Kirk was made!

Unexpected Surpises that come our way

Because of the excellent casino on the east side of the four-lane highway(27/218 Avenue of the Saints) the little town of Riverside, west of the highway is easy to overlook but be assured that a visitor will find a trove of curiosities. Such as the StarTrek Museum with a delightful guide who will spend ample time explaining the items pertaining to the iconic television series. It may surprise you to learn that William Shatner was born in this little community. As you leave you look at the many souvenirs to be found for gifts to bring to the folks back home

Open Despite the Construction

It took some doing to find a way to get into Murphy's (went there on the recommendation of the guy who runs the Startrek Museum), even on foot. There were a couple of people in there at noon. I ordered two salads with grilled chicken to go. It took about 25 minutes, but they were delicious and filling. Took them to the local park to eat because we had our dog with us. The bill was $30 plus tax, so a little on the high side. Walked around while I was waiting. Looks like there's a private party room in back, but it's turned into a storage room. There's a patio out back, but it's heavily covered with dust and dirt from the construction.
