We were on our way home from Des Moines, went out of our way to try this place because the girls wanted some pastries. Needless to say, it was AMAZING. I called and spoke to the nicest young man, Jon, whom was just as kind in person. The selections were astounding. The taste was phenomenal. You MUST go! We will... More

Drove over while the family was at adventureland. This bakery is ridiculously good. You can not go wrong with ANYTHING here. I loaded up on the windmill cookies. Best I've ever had. Also grabbed a ton of other pastries, cookies and bread as well. About $65 worth of goodies for my family and our neighbors who told us about it.... More

There is a pleasant bakery aroma that fills the shop; a helpful staff assists shoppers with questions and efficiently serves customers; reasonable prices encourages one to try a number of treats. In fact, we purchased a box of delicious goodies and enjoyed every one!

I've always loved Jaarsma Bakery, and have never been disappointed with the quality or selection of the products there. And the prices are so reasonable! As usual, it was extremely busy, but the employees were very efficient and friendly. I purchased a large box of some of my favorite bakery treats, along with a couple kinds of bread and a... More

Always fun to see things you are familiar with because of your home country. Visiting Jaarsma is the same as a Dutchie, try the Dutch letter (not really dutch, but really nice), speculaas, goat legs or Andrés cookies (Gevulde koek). The last ones are really close to the dutch ones!

Stopped here on our way to visit friends and spent way too much money. Not really sure how I thought I could eat all that I ordered but at least we have a lot to comment on! Long johns were outstanding and I love a good long john; they're hard to find in Florida so anytime we travel up to... More

My wife attended central college and told us this is the place to go for Dutch letters. This place must be great since she told the kids that they can order whatever they wanted. My cheap wife with an open checkbook means it has to be good.

Oh my goodness! This place was wonderful! In business since 1898, Jaarsma Bakery (or bakkerij) has authentic Dutch pastries. The sugar cookies and cakes were beautiful too1 I would have tried one of everything had I not been watching the carbs! The "must try" treat is a Dutch letter. It's a pastry in the shape of the letter S. It... More
