This is a wonderful and required place to stop -- and to purchase a supply of Dutch pastries and other Dutch items. The family that owns this bakery started it about 150 years ago -- and it is still going strong. It is a delightful place to visit, even if you are able to resist their wares. I cannot!

Lots of yummy treats - puff pillows, Dutch letters, cookies and of course the apple bread and rolls!

I always finish a stay in Pella by going to Jaarsma to bring home pastries to my friends and family. Too many goodies to pick a favorite!

Being a tourist, I had of course looked online for the places to visit in Pella. This was on the top of the list! The line was almost out the door, but people waited patiently to make their purchases. They have a huge variety of pastries and cookies. I asked the clerk for the best recommendations for pastries, and she... More

This is a real bakery the smell and sights in the cases made your moth water. They had more variety and were willing to sell small lots of items that I believe we left with 10 bags and all were very good.

Let's just say I'm glad I live several hundred miles from Pella. I don't think I could resist the delicious treats I would weigh a ton. The tarts were my favorite one with an almond paste and another raspberry.

Love the atmosphere of this older bakery. The windmill cookies are my favorite. Wish Pella hours were more tourist friendly but can't wait for holiday hours so we can get to Pella from Des Moines before they close.

The Danish Letters and Strawberry Danish were fantastic. Even though it was not Tulip time in Pella when I was there, we still experienced about a 15 minute wait to be able to order. We wanted to return on Sunday but they are closed on Sunday.

This is a lovely bakery & gift store that is Dutch from the minute you see the ladies dressed the part to the wooden shoes. A fun place to experience & try their wonderful pasteries that we purchased an enjoyed in our Hotel room. Don't miss stopping by to pick up some treasures.

This is not a restaurant, but a bakery. We went to the Jaarsma Bakery during the annual Pella, Iowa Tulip Festival in May. This is not a good time unless you don't mind standing in line for a long time! We have gone back twice since then. They are famous for their Dutch Letters. A flaky S-shaped pastry with almond...
