Had the BBQ nachos as a meal. They are excellent, plus we enjoyed the meal with Pepsi products (Dt Dew). Good service

we ate at bubba-qs on a Tuesday evening, we were greeted by a friendly waitress, our food was great and the place was not too noisy
Our tenth 'cue stop in Iowa. $23.38 + tip (very small because table service was as bad as reviewers have previously remarked) purchased a medium-sized brisket loaded potato and a lunch sized (ample) burnt end sandwich with a side of baked beans, as well as...two refillable soft drinks (only one of which was ever refilled, while we also had to forage for salt, pepper and sauce for ourselves). The burnt ends had the classic KC flavoring, but were very, very tough, as in requiring a steak knife to cut through them. At the end, we had to track down our server in order to lay hands on the bill; we observed customers at no less than four other tables doing the same thing. We time these things carefully. Poor service from start to finish turned a 45 minutes lunch stop into a 70 minute slog. We shall not return.More
My wife and stopped here for dinner. I had a brisket sandwich which contained at least twice the quantity of meat that i expected. Not to mention tasty. The fried potato side dish was also very good and a generous quantity. Excellent value.
Bubba's is our choice when it comes to a family gathering, whether it a birthday or just a night out. Food comes fast and flavorful. Often we (and others in our group) get "to-go" boxes because serving are so large.
Food was delicious - great flavor. No sauce needed. Great price. Great service. (Even the bread was delicious.)
Title says it all...they do use an electric smoker but consistently good bbq and fresh salads. John Deere corn is my favorite side dish too. I eat here most chances I get while traveling through town since I don't live in Ottumwa.
If you're looking for good food, it's the best in town. Everything is good. The soups are amazing, salads are fresh and the meat is top notch. Prices are very reasonable.
we would eat here again - very good food with great service - very busy Saturday night, but they were keeping up - nice to have a Dt Dew with a meal here :)
Good crowd on a Saturday evening - very nice waitress - extremely helpful and the food was very good - nice surprise to see Pepsi products here - we will go back again
I've ate a lot of ribs up in Vancouver, BC. But F*** me these are the best I've ever had! My waitress was very helpful and nice. The prices were reasonable and the portions were huge! Wish we had a place this good back home....Too bad I'm only here for 1 day on business.More
We tried to eat at this dreadful, noisy place, but after standing by the hostess station for ten minute, we finally just left in disgust. I don't know who likes this place, but the service is deplorable.
The place was busy on a Friday night. The hostess sat me quickly. The wait staff was very quick and attentive. The menu was a little unclear about what cut of meat items were. For example the 1lb sampler platter simply said Beef, Pork, Chicken,...Sausage, Ham... When I asked my waitress what they were she told me, but was a little dismayed that the menus are unclear. She was very nice and friendly to me. The meats did not seem smoked enough to me. Look at my attached picture to see what I mean. Everything was cooked to a proper temperature. The meats did not seem as though they were smoked long enough for that buttery soft texture and good smokey flavor. The Beef Brisket was dry and tough. The Pork Butt Shoulder was very tough, cut too thick, and not smokey at all. The chicken was really good. I would have really liked to try the ribs and some other meats, but I could not.More
I had the half rack of ribs and they were excellent. The meat just melted in your mouth, the rub was good and so was the sauce.
Large selection on menu. All the BBQ dishes but they add several large nacho offerings along with some interesting flat bread choices. The drink menu would be the only downfall. Pretty blah selection.
