We went to this restaurant on our first night- the owner is Italian and lived in the area since 1972, however his English is so cute, all Italian accent- The pizza dough is made fresh daily by the owner, therefore it is extremely good. The prices are not so cheap, specially for a place in Muscatine- but there are not... More

We arrived late on a Sunday evening to our hotel in Muscatine and asked at reception for a restaurant recommendation. They immediately suggested Salvatore's and we drove into the town tired and hungry. I have traveled many times to Italy and up until this night I thought it had the best food on the planet. No longer. The best meatballs... More

We usually get pizza and pasta. The best Food in town and the tastiest pizza. I love the new renovation of the interior. It is very welcoming.

Classy place in a small river town that compares to the very best Italian food in Chicago. We ate here after a long day of cycling. We had mozzarella bread, meatballs, lasagna, and chicken Parmesan. The food and the service was excellent!!!!

My wife and I were in Muscatine for our 1st time and looking for a place for dinner. We were very impressed with our experience at Salvatore's. Shelly was our waitress and she did not disappoint. The food was equally awesome! It was made fresh and was excellent! The owners met us upon paying the check. These guys are real... More

I heard a lot of people rave about their pizza - which I found to be mediocre - not the Best but not the worst i have had - a little disappointed. Service was okay - had to ask several times for more water to drink.

You will not be disappointed! Papa Reno has been serving great food for many years. Started Romas pizza in early 80's in Muscatine. Continues to supervise the prep, cooking and serving of great food daily.

Stumbled across this gem of a restaurant. Food was delicious, staff was very competent and while "Grandpa" cooked in the back the Husband/Wife team made sure customers were enjoying themselves. Truly... A highlight of my visit to Muscatine!

Thank you. We want every customer to feel this way. Grandpa does make the dough everyday and supervise the kitchen, keeping our flavors and quality up to our standards we have set for 30 years. Come again! More

We enjoyed our lunch at this restaurant yesterday. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very relaxing. The crust on the pizza is great! My daughter enjoyed the Fettuccine that she ordered. We look forward to coming back again soon.

Mediocre food, untrained service, way too dark like sitting in the back row in the theater Just a bunch of so-so red sauce slopped on everything -- needs revitalizing, see, bored and listless

Well, here we go again, unsatisfied with one false experience and review you felt you needed to do it again. We have reviewed our security video of the restaurant and YOU have not even been in our restaurant. Clearly you reviewed us to advertise a competitor. As an elected official (city council member) in Muscatine, you should be ashamed of... More

Salvatore's "trattoria" has been a staple in the downtown Muscatine area since 1985, when Reno Vitale moved here from Palermo, Sicily, the original home of pizza and pasta. In Italy, the word "trattoria" means a small, informal restaurant, often off the beaten path on a small block or street. Here at Salvatore's, we try to capture the mood, flavor and taste of the famous Italian trattorias. Come into our locally owned and operated restaurant tonight for a taste of real Italian flavor right here in Iowa.
