My boyfriend and I decided to come here for dinner, as we had heard good things about this restaurant and we were staying not too far away at the Designer Inn and Suites. This steakhouse was literally a five minute drive from our hotel. There is ample on street parking available too. I will say that it was a tad... More

Best food for miles! BBQ your meat the way you like. Great choice of cuts and amazing sides. If you don't eat anywhere else, eat at Rubes!

Folks come to Rube's from long distances, and now I know why! The service is exceptional, the steak fantastic, the open charcoal grill heated to perfection and odorless!! Try the Rube's rub on your cut of beef, and don't forget the grilled potatoes with peppers and onions. They are mouthwatering. It is definitely a date- night establishment, but don't hesitate... Of course, the famous Rubes steakhouse is a stop for anybody visiting the area. One might say that it is a reason to visit the area! We typically eat here at least 2 to 3 times per month. It's close, convenient, high-quality and great service make this a go to place for a quiet dinner with just my wife and... More

If you want to go our as a couple or with friends, this is the place. You pick your own steak (or chicken, pork, fish) and a side if wanted. Grill it yourself on one of several grills. They have loaves of texas toast you can grill and eat while waiting. A full salad bar, big pan of seasoned potatoes... More

The meat was amazing. We are from California so Iowa beef!!! The grilling was fun but sometimes it is easier to have the meat seasoned and cooked. We have been to Rubes for over 25 years and will come back whenever we are in the area as my husband is from the area originally. I personally felt the pressure to... More

We went on a Monday night...found out their special is "burger night." There isn't a menu and there wasn't any explanation on how this worked or any prices posted. Even for a Monday night, we still had to wait 20 minutes to get a table. There is a small salad bar which was okay, and they served baked beans...these were... More

Very good steaks and you cook them yourself. Meat is a very good cut for the price. A nice salad bar plus Texas toast and baked potato. Service was a bit slow at first but improved once we got going.. A fun place with very good food.

I had been told by many locals to go here for a great steak. It was OK at best. Great Staff. Great Service. But, I don't see the incredible food that everyone talked about. It is a bit of a drive from any major city so plan accordingly.
